North- East. North is where the moss grows & eastern would b afternoon shade.

South & West will get more sun esp in summer

You are better off with South facing windows for afternoon shade. And to create a cooler house use UV blocking tint on your north facing windows.

North. The front of my house faces the north, and I get almost no sunlight at all in my living room. My sunroom at the back (south) of the house gets lots of sun all day long.

northern exposure has more shade.
