I just moved into a studio apt. and I am NOT used to having such a small space to deal with. I got rid of alot of stuff and I have been very creative about ways to make extra space (because I HATE cluter!) But the problem now is my apartment looks too boring! My head board, computer desk and tv stand are all antique black, and my bedspread is leapord print (black and tan)....any ideas for other colors that will go well with this? I still need to buy a rug and curtains and maybe a chair or two....Plus I dont have anything on my walls yet.... I was thinking maybe red would be a good color to go with the leapord print, but I'm not sure....ANY Advice, Ideas or Color schemes are welcome! Thanx!

I just moved into a brand new house. I have a big open area which includes the kitchen, breakfast area, and family room. My theme for my kitchen and breakfast area is coffee. I have plaid curtains, which include the colors brown, black, and ivory. In my family room, I have a dark sage couch, and my coffee table and end tables are black metal with earth-tone colored stones on top. I have one window in the family room. I would like to put a valance on that window...what color of curtain would go well in that room? Does it need to match the curtains hanging in the breakfast area?

...Just so my neighbor stops telling me 'I knocked on your door, but you didn't answer! I know you were home because your van was there!'
(there are valid reasons why I do not answer the door when I see it is her!)

I know there is some kind of machine they use to artificially paint a wood texture on a surface, you kind of paint out the different colors one by one and it comes out looking just like wood, i want to buy one off the internet but i dont know what its called and what to search for, i would like to know what the name is. Thanks!

My bathroom was built without a shower. We added one. Now the walls were painted. I am trying to stick some self stick floor tiles to it as the wall is not all that stable. They all fell down. Don't want to repaint due to mold and mildew and we are not very well at doing it ourselves. Also cost is important. Please help.

We'd like bamboo worktops, but I want to know how other people find them. Are they hardwearing? Do they mark easily? How often will it need oiling again, and how difficult and time-consuming is it to do this? Is it easy to keep clean?

I was going to purchase this house and the fireplace was dark green marble with small white lines, the owner has already painted the room light green and white I don't like it at all. I wanted to know what color goes with green marble? I thought about grey, with white trimming then I thought about red but that is to holiday looking, then I thought about cream or like a tan. Please help. Any other light colors?
