Either one will match each others price, so you really need to find out which one is better with customer service.

First of all with no offense meant, you'll get personal opinions here, as answers. Secondly those two stores offer brand names also sold at other stores, likely at similar or perhaps even lower prices.

Reasonable is relative,,,and especially relates to how long you might want an item to last, and some levels of SERVICE you might incur during ownership.

Example: I can buy an off brand of clothes washer perhaps for $100 less than a popular BRAND name, and might have great success,,,OR NOT. I might also buy the most expensive appliance available, and have great service,,,OR NOT.

Keep in mind too, that many appliances are manufactured generically, and as a particular Brand seller desires, have that BRAND tagged onto an appliance.

Again,, Reasonable is relative as well. What might seem reasonable initially will be judged in life span, service, and cost efficiency overall.

We all shop "Brands" it's the plague imposed by AD Hype.

Know what your NEEDS are, any features offered, and the general reputation of any appliance.

I'll give you an abstract example.

I can buy a coffee maker for as little as $6,,, or as much as my ego dictates. Each may have the same lifespan. What to do? What to do?

They both have a price match guarantee. If you can get the price in writing somehow (websites are nice) they'll give you the competitor's price. I have found that when it comes to installation and delivery times, we have much better luck with Lowes. They're nicer and more knowledgable. We bought the Whirlpool Duet set at Lowes and they were great. They were early! And they offer nice 0% financing too - so I just put the money aside for 18mos, and paid it off at the last minute, so I got interest on my $1500...

From an asthetic perspective, Lowes looks nicer. I guess the blue is more calming than bright orange. However, that being said, I have never had one problem with home depot. The customer service has always been A1. We recently added siding and carpets to our home and everything was awesome. YOu also can't beat their 12 month financing which is almost all the time.

What I have found is that competitiors don't carry the same model of a product. So Lowes may have a different model of a brand like Maytag than Home Depot, Best Buy would have a different Sony stereo or t.v. than Circuit City, etc.

It makes it very hard to compare prices when they do that. Don't count out other stores that may carry electronics.

home depot stands behind their products more than lowes and if you find the same set cheaper at lowes then home depot will meet the price plus beat it by 10 percent. home depot is usually cheaper any ways and they have more name brand products

Home Depot is my best friend, a least will give you 12 month to pay without interest rate.

They are both similar when it comes to price and warranty stuff. Their biggest difference comes with the brand names they carry.

Check them both out you might find a brand name that you like in one store but not the other.
