My bathroom was built without a shower. We added one. Now the walls were painted. I am trying to stick some self stick floor tiles to it as the wall is not all that stable. They all fell down. Don't want to repaint due to mold and mildew and we are not very well at doing it ourselves. Also cost is important. Please help.

anitababy is right. Gorilla Glue is good. But be very careful...it "grows" as it dries, and can sort of foam out from under your vinyl tiles. You might also want to try silicone glue.

Do NOT use mastic / morter / grout as someone else suggested. That stuff is only for ceramic or porcelein or natural stone. It will absolutely not work on the self stick vinyl tile you are describing.

check with the store that sells the floor tiles. the self stick doesn't stick well even on floors! there are adhesives that will do the job.

are you making a whole wall of tiles? if so you need morter. Ask someone in your local building supply store.
