buy a drywall lift, cordless screwdriver, screws, putty, tape, and plastic tarp for the floor and everything should go smoothly. it makes the process so much easier if you have a drywall lift! Also take your time hanging it, drywall is a big turd. My father and I have done it for years and it will get nasty especially if you don't have one of these things.

rent or buy a banjo ,a drywall device that will cut the amount of time taping in half, also a power drywall sander will save you time.
if I were you I woulg practice taping in an inconspicous area first , swinging that blade to get good results is tricky...good luck...painting and drywall contractor

Here's one tip: My husband does drywall and he uses a squigee when he's smoothing the mud. People always comment on how he always gets the walls so smooth.

Hire someone. I have just gutted a room and wish I had not. Getting sheetrock up is relatively easy. The taping is a nightmare. It is time consuming and frustratiing.

This is not easy work, the stuff is heavy as sin, especially the ceiling. The taping has to be done really well or you will absolutely hate the results. The guys that do this for a living are not that expensive.
