I just recently bought an old house and discovered I have these bugs living in the wood siding. I have been told it is due to the boxelder trees in my yard. Can I get rid of them without having to pay the bug man every year? They are in the house too in the summer.

I essentially am looking for a carpet/floor upright vaccum cleaner. I was looking around in stores and found a lot of choice however. I notieced the following things about various brands.

1. Bissell = Seems to be the cheapest and offers more features for it's price but looks kind of flimsy. Is this a good brand. Offers 1 yr warranty.

2. Dirt devel = Cost a little more and looks better. Offers 2 yr warranty?

3. Hoover = I know this is a well known brand but all I was able to see was the steamvacs. My mom had one and it's about 4 yrs old. Its very good still cleans up.

Also I noticed Canaster Vacuum cleaners. What are the advantages of these? What is the purpose of having a canaster? I just don't want to get a habbit of purchasing a vacuum every 1 year because it breaks....

I always take showers and never sit down in my bathtub but it always looks dirty even when it's just been cleaned. I don't know if it's hardwater or some kind of build up but its embarassing because people probably think my tub is dirty all of the time. What can I do to make my bathtub white again?

It is very difficult to find the cleaner for an electric percolator; many are on the market for glass pots. I heard something about white vinegar and water, is this so and if it is, what are the ratios?

Okay my sister is the biggest slob ever.
I went away for 2 months and when I came back I come to find that she didnt clean my dishes since when I left 2 months ago.

Im throwing away all forks spoons and butter knives and cups, but I have this china like plates setting and knives set, and some stainless still cookware that I really cant afford to throw away.

Anyone know what the best way to clean these is?

I was thinking since lysol kills 99% of all germs can I spray everything with lysol and then wash everything like twice.
Or can I use bleach.

Anyone tell me how I can clean all this stuff.
I spent like 200 on everything and like I said I cant afford to just replace it all.

When we bought the sofa, they put this protector spray on it, and it seems to help spills and what not, but I would like to clean it. We have an English bulldog, and you know dogs, they slobber and drool on everything. So how do I do it without harming the suede? Thanks.

I was washing a load of laundry containing towels and underwear. During the spin cycle, the washer started to wobble and get out of balance. I tried to rearrange the bath towel, but it didn't help.

So could someone share some secrets with me on how to determine which side is the heavier side, etc? When it's spinning, I can't tell which side is heavy. Besides, there are no landmarks, so there is no way to keep track of which "side" is the heavier or lighter anyway. I have a top loader. Thanks, everyone.

My house is very messy. Things are lying everywhere they are not suppose to and my kitchen's a disaster. Food are lying around everywhere and the cabinets (which are dirty) are not used at all. Was thinking of having a full time maid but we only need someone to clean the house so we were thought about part time maid too. However, we were afraid that the house is too dirty that the part time maid cant cleaned everything up. Anyone has any idea to which I should choose?
