Take the extra few minutes to pick up and clean up as you go.

This actual relies upon on how straight away you want to modify. The small steps are the ideal. once you get residing house, do not kick your shoes off, positioned them away. do not throw your jacket over the chair, carry close it up. for each element that you need to sparkling later, get interior the habit of taking the few more beneficial seconds of putting it as a alternative from the start. that is forming a clean habit and is not as difficult because it kind of feels. The difficult section is the extremely company. Are you disorganized because you've too a lot stuff, or you've the habit like above? once you've too a lot stuff, this isn't unavoidably difficult yet will take extra time to fix. i'd recommend beginning with a room. For an get at the same time i will use the kitchen. positioned each little thing in this room in packing bins. save this truly prepared. As you want some thing, pull it out of the field, use it, sparkling it, come across a house for it. etc, etc. on the right of a month probability is what's left interior the packing bins isn't necessary, remove it. Make a visit to the Salvation military. this would artwork for any room, even closets. As for the vehicle, supply it an excellent cleansing and then make an effort to save it that way. whenever you pull in at evening, take out the trash, and so on. Small steps, yet you receives there.

I know that problem. Keeping organised is a constant problem for me. Eventually I decided to use my natural talent for ignoring mess to my advantage. I gave myself 3 weeks to completely clean and reorganise my home and worked systematically through it, ignoring everything that wasn't on that days job list, even washing up and cleaning the floors and stuff I would normally have done. I didn't put anything to one side to deal with later so I avoided that box of stuff you aren't sure what to do with. I found a home for everything, or got rid of it, you have to be ruthless in the disposal of unwanted items. Never keep stuff because it might come in handy some day.

Once the house was clean and organised I established a routine for daily and weekly tasks. Nothing too onerous because I hate house work, but to make sure the important stuff was done. It's little things like filing the mail and throwing away the rubbish that help a surprising amount. It's still a struggle for me, but things are getting better.

Good luck.

Well, I'm 13, so I don't have my own house. But during my vacation time, I've been cleaning out my room. Throw away all junk or donate them. Just EVERYTHING you'll never use. If you don't have storage bins and such, I highly suggest you buy them. Put labels on them, for what each thing is. Also throw or donate all old clothes that don't fit or you just never wear. I had 3 60 gallon trash bags filled with all my useless clothes. Also, take all the things (like furniture and large electronics like computers) and organize them properly. Mop and/or vacume your floors. Make sure that when you take something out, PUT IT BACK WHERE IT BELONGS!

Dishes: When you have eaten off a plate or bowl or something, don't just put it in the sink. Rinse it, and make sure there is no left over stuff on it. Put it back in the sink or dishwasher. It'll make doing the dishes a snap!

Go To Target-Wal-marts-K-Marts-or dollar store purchase the plastic see thru containers with snap on lids ; gather all your stuff in the floor ; go through it all if you do not use most of it pack it up in a box or bag and donate it to good will or throw it away ; if it is stuff you need ; divide it into groups such as winter clothes in one container; summer clothers in another container; important papers in another and so on then stack neatly on top of each other if your storage room is high enough only stack about 3 containers high to avoid an accident then label them all this way you know what is what it is a time saver and easily to fine when need be.if it is clothes i put fabric sheets on top and the bottom of the containers so the clothes does not have a musky smell place fabric sheets on top of plastic wrap cover your clothing so no spots or stains get on them ; makes clothes smell like they just was launder.

I throw out anything that has not been used for 6 months or more unless I have it for sentimental reasons. I have 2 kids and a messy husband so keeping up with them is a full time job, if I had to also deal with clutter, I'd go crazy. You should watch that show on The learning chanel called "Clean Sweep" It will give you ideas on how to get started!

I know what you mean. That is one of my biggest problem too. I start the morning picking up stuff upstairs that belong downstairs and when I get downstairs I reverse the process. I also try to make a list the night before of bigger project that I want to do the next day and don't rest until it is done. Only make it a simple list that you can do the next day, Good luck on your resolution.

You hit the nail on the head with the word organised.
If everything has it's own place and consistently returned to it, it should stay reasonably tidy.
I learnt this in my college years when I was flatting with mates!
And lots of storage is a must.
Boxes on wheels under the beds, shelving in every spare spot.
NEVER keep anything you dont eat, need, use or wear!

Start in one room, clean it top to bottom, throw out junk you don't use, Use this rule for cleaning -(if you haven't used it in 6Mos. then you don't need it). Then move on to next room. Have a specific place for everything, like dirty clothes go in hamper by washer & dryer, books go in bookshelf, coats and hats get hung in closet, organize in like groups. Wash a load of laundry everyday, keep dishes clean everyday and put away. Watch out for clutter - it happens quickly and gets overwhelming. After cleaning reward your self and those that helped you, then your more likely willing to clean again when you can look forward to a reward. Good Luck.

GET RID OF ANY ITEMS THAT HAVE NO FUNCTION BY THAT I MEAN THAT TAKE UP SPACE BUT THAT'S ALL IT DOES. WITH GETTING ORGANIZED YOU MUST DO AWAY WITH WHAT YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT. SUCH AS ITEMS THAT MIGHT BE WORTH SOMETHING ONE OF THESE DAYS,YOU NEED TO PLACE A LIMIT ON IT I KNOW IT'S KINDA HARD TO GIVE UP STUFF THAT'S SENTIMENTAL BUT IF IT DOESN'T GO WITH A CERTAIN THEME/MOTIF IN YOUR HOUSE IT MUST GO-EITHER BY VIA GARAGE SALE OR CHARITY OR BOTH. THEN YOU NEED TO MAKE UP AREAS THAT YOU NEED TO ORGANIZE EXAMPLE; IN YOUR LIVING ROOM-DO YOU USE THROWS TO COVER UP WITH TO WATCH A MOVIE WHERE DOES IT GO AFTERWORDS-YOU COULD HAVE AN OTTOMAN THAT HAS A FLIP UP LID TO STICK THEM IN UNTIL NEEDED OR USE A WOODEN CHEST FOR A COFFEE TABLE THAT WAY YOU'LL HAVE STORAGE INSIDE IT UNTIL YOU NEED IT. IF YOU HAVE ALOT OF CD/DVD/VHS STORE THEM IN A CABINET OR BINS/BASKETS THE LESS CLUTTER YOU CAN SEE THE LESS YOUR HOME LOOKS MESSY. WITH ORGANIZATION AS LONG AS YOU PUT IT BACK IN IT'S SPOT THE LESS YOU MUST HAVE TO CONSISTENTLY CLEAN. DON'T HAVE STACKS ALL AROUND THAT'S NOT ORGANIZATION. YOU MAY KNOW WHERE IT IS BUT IF YOU HAD TO TELL SOMEONE TO GET IT FOR YOU THAT'S A DIFFERENT STORY. EVERYTHING HAS A PLACE YOU JUST NEED FOR IT TO GET THERE AND STAY. BEST OF LUCK AND DON'T THINK IT WON'T TAKE SOME WORK TO GET IT THERE BUT KEEP IT UP UNTIL EVERY ROOM HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED.

I have just went thru a move and I know how hard it can be. One thing is to try to keep your laundry up to date . If you can, stay away from distractions. Spend the time to get all your things sorted into like items ie. office supplies and mail need to be a priority for staying on top of the bills so get them organized. Place this in small shoe box bins Do this when your watching tv in the evening . Then daily go thru that junk mail at the trash can or shredder. or a las burn it up in a galvanized trash can . If space is at a premium and you just have waay more than you will ever use sell off or donate junk to local chairties. I had to start weeding out my sentimental keepers down to a bare minumum. if you have odds and end bottles of cleaners try like I did just pour like ones together for more space. At one time I had six large totes of mail I had never opened. It took weeks to go thru but eventually you get there!!!!!! The less clutter you have out . The less there is to clean. Put your photos in a small wooden chest that is a neat decoative item that is at easy access for when you want to reminese they have these really cheap at the dollar store. Get the plastic drawer bins for extra space for your clothes so there not sitting folded in those laundry baskets . You can usually hide them in a closet. If you have an attic put your summer clothes up and also summer shoes too! Closet Made makes some great coated wire accessories for under shelf storage for wasted space . And hangers for over the door Plastic shelves to put small appliance you rarely use are a good option. If you have children get them their own totes to store their toys in. Keep those lids for plastic tupperware in a shoe box like tote. staying organized is a habit that has to be one of the hardest things I have ever done I am truly a complusive pack rat and the last suggestion I have is get willing helper who will work circles around you.. Its sad but I have had to beg for the help but it was worth paying for just to get me motivated to start and stick with it........best of luck P>S no close family or friends for help they want to tell you how wrong you are for keeping this or that!!!!!!!!
