I work 3rd shift and my baby sitter often sleeps on my bed. I was stripping the sheets this evening so I could wash them, and I found a rather large redish brownish spot on my mattress. *large as in, circumference of a normal coffee cup*
It wasn't hard to guess that it was menstural blood.
I'm not going to say anything to her, she probably knows it's there.. and is too embarressed to say anything. I've got black sheets or I would have noticed before, Eaither way, I've got a pillow top mattress, does anyone have any ideas on how to get this stain out??

I have about a 1" foam mattress (memory foam) on my bed that I want to clean.
The tag on it says to "hand wash". No way! It's huge to hand wash! (Queen sized) - I went to a cleaners and she said they don't do it. :(
IS it possible??

My washing machine has starting shaking every time it hits the spin cycle. It was on a piece of plywood when we bought the house, but we pulled the wood out because it looked like butt, but now our washing machine shakes so bad. It is tilted back at about a 5 or 10 degree angle because of the angle of the floor (it's in a closed in porch) Does that have something to do with it? It was fine before we moved it, but now I have to literally hold it down when it hits that spin cycle. What's going on? Any suggestions on how to fix it (hopefully other than put the board back)?

I can't believe I'm blowing points on this - but I just recently went back to work full time and I can't seem to keep up with the house! I've got pets and a husband (he works full time and we have a small farm) I try to clean a bit when I get home from work. I don't want to spend the weekend attached to a sweeper, dustrag and mop! Plus there's laundry and dinner and dishes!! (I know--get off the computer)! Any shortcuts?

I'm considering a Friedrich or Whirlpool...according to Consumer Reports. I already know that Sharper Image-Ionic Breeze and Orick filterless cleaners are all just gimmicks.

Why do my sneakers squeak? They are Nike SBs and they had first started squeaking after I had used them on a rainy day. The top right of the sneaker squeaks as it flexes when I walk. It's been squeaking for 3 weeks and I've tried baby powder but that doesn't work

With most women working as much as men, why are the bathroom cleaning, oven cleaning, dish washing, baby wiping, dusting and vacuuming commercials always feature women as the consumer? Billy Mays and Dyson don't count because they are only demonstrating. Am I the only one who notices this???

My dog cut her foot and on our way to the vet she managed to get bloody pawprints on my jeans & shirt. Thankfully the cut happened outside so there is no blood on my carpet, just my clothes & the towel I put down on the car seat for her. (I'm not really worried about the towel, it was an old junk one.) I've tried peroxide but it didn't get the stains totally out, just faded it a bit. I've heard that soaking the stain in milk works. Has anyone else heard and/or tried this method? Anything else I can do?? Thanks for your answers!
