My washing machine has starting shaking every time it hits the spin cycle. It was on a piece of plywood when we bought the house, but we pulled the wood out because it looked like butt, but now our washing machine shakes so bad. It is tilted back at about a 5 or 10 degree angle because of the angle of the floor (it's in a closed in porch) Does that have something to do with it? It was fine before we moved it, but now I have to literally hold it down when it hits that spin cycle. What's going on? Any suggestions on how to fix it (hopefully other than put the board back)?

The washer must sit flat and not be able to rock from corner to corner.

It is best to start with the leveling legs turned up as far as possible into the machine and then adjusted out for the machine to sit flat and not rock from corner to corner. The one mistake that most people make is in stopping the rocking they keep turning the wrong leg farther out of the machine instead of turning the other leg into the machine. They keep turning them farther and farther out until the machine becomes top heavy and then no matter how level and flat the machine sits it will walk and wobble all over the place.

If the machine has self leveling rear legs, you just tilt the machine forward and let it drop from about 6" off the floor and the rear legs will set themselves and then you adjust the front legs so the machine sits flat and does not rock from corner to corner. The machine does not need to sit perfectly level so leave that level in your toolbox for another job.

In order to stop the shaking, you need to level the washing machine. The reason it shakes so bad is that the 5 to 10 degree angle makes it impossible for the machine to balance a load properly.
Tilt your washer back and adjust the feet on the front of the machine to compensate for the angled floor. Then tilt the machine forward and set it on the back feet (the should be self-leveling). Afterward, take a level to the machine and check it front to back, side to side and across at an angle. The machine should be as level as possible to avoid the shaking. Feet for a washer are pretty cheap if their missing. Call 1-800-4MY-HOME ask for "parts" and "order part". Get the model off of the machine and Sears can mail the feet out to your house. At least that way, you won't have that board sticking out.

The machine needs to be leveled. You can get a cheap level for two or three bucks at any store. Usually the front legs/feet on the washing machine are adjustable. You will probably need a 9/16th wrench to loosen the lock nut and then just turn the leg/foot up or down as needed to get it level.

First make sure that it's on a solid, level surface. Then make sure the load of wash is distributed equally if it still shakes during spin. And if that doesn't work, you'll likely have to replace the worn out bearings.

Unfortunately you may need to level out your floor in order to ensure the washing machine is level. If nothing else cut the board down to the size of your washing machine so it don't look so ugly.

See if the machines feet are adjustable if so adjust until it sits square if not use furniture caps you use on your sofas so not to mark your carpet. Or sit the feet on small wood pieces so not to be seen

Chuck your mobile phone in the vibrations get bigger

I would imagine that board was there because the washer was sitting unevenly on the ground, and that could make it shake. I'd try putting the board back and seeing what happens.

You have to make sure that you put the clothes in there so that the weight is evenly dispersed. Other wise it will do that. But depending on how old your machine is and in what condition it is, it may just do that.
