Lady problem question... Menstrual blood on the mattress?

I work 3rd shift and my baby sitter often sleeps on my bed. I was stripping the sheets this evening so I could wash them, and I found a rather large redish brownish spot on my mattress. *large as in, circumference of a normal coffee cup*
It wasn't hard to guess that it was menstural blood.
I'm not going to say anything to her, she probably knows it's there.. and is too embarressed to say anything. I've got black sheets or I would have noticed before, Eaither way, I've got a pillow top mattress, does anyone have any ideas on how to get this stain out??

STEP 1: Try the mildest solution first. Mix up some "dry suds" using 1/4 cup mild powdered detergent in 1 cup warm water. Beat with an egg beater or whisk until suds form (they should look like whipped cream), then apply suds to mattress stain with a sponge. Wipe with a sponge dipped in warm water and wrung out. STEP 2: Use an upholstery shampoo to remove tougher stains. Follow instructions on the product. STEP 3: Use hydrogen peroxide to battle blood stains. Blot the stain with a white towel from the outside in as it begins to bubble. Continue until blood no longer seeps onto the towel. Some blood stains may be impossible to remove. STEP 4: Remove urine stains in the same way you would remove bloodstains, or try blotting with white vinegar. STEP 5: Tackle super tough stains with an enzyme cleaner which is a biologically-based cleaner that breaks down stains and odors. Or, consider hiring a professional mattress-cleaning company. Look in the Yellow Pages under "Mattress" or "Carpet Cleaners" (many also professionally clean mattresses.) STEP 6: Whichever method you choose, be careful to avoid liquids seeping into the mattress' padding. Residual moisture can cause mold or mildew. STEP 7: Make sure the mattress is completely dry before replacing the mattress pad and sheets.

First question to ask is could there have been a possibility that you were pregnant since last Feb? If so then you should go to a clinic or to see your doctor you may need a curettage (scrape and clean out your uterus) or risk serious infection and possibly death. Don't get too worried unless you have a fever (medium to high). If not then don't worry sometimes periods can be really heavy and stinky as period is really the shedding of the lining of your uterus (the pear shaped part where the egg is fertilized and grows into a baby inside your vagina) because the egg that was released was not fertilized and the old lining has to be shed and the cycle start over again until the next egg is released. . Your period should start to get a lighter red and less thick as the days go buy and really be back to normal after about 3-4 days but some girls have heavy periods for a week. As long as you don't have fever don't worry. Some girls/women have periods like that every month.

For around three dollars you can buy Oxy
Clean Spray, make sure it is not an immitation. This is the best solution to remove any organic stain and the majority of everything else. I am a mother of four and it may take me a few washes but very rarely does this product let me down.

dabbing the blood with hydrogen pyroxide solution, will bubble out the natural enzymes in blood.. then wash as usual..
but I found a wonderful concoction (thanks to my uncle) its sold as a car cleaner in most hardware stores.. its called "Simple Green".. its a concentrated natural biodegradagle, non toxic all purpose cleaner.. It comes in a spray bottle ...( it smells sort of green/earthy like grass) you can buy it concentrated and water it down to the strength you want.. I use it from washing windows, counter tops, de greasing my oven, taking oil off my drive way, to soaking blood,grass, oil, rust , ink stains in my childrens clothing. give it a good rub, then wash as usual. it always takes my menstral mistakes out of my sheets.... goodluck!

Peroxcide works well, but not always...Try Oxy Clean it is a powder that you add to water then dab on spot... It will be like it was never there!

Wash them with cold water.Blood stains always get out with cold water.
