We were first advised that a "rod" had gone bad in our hot water heater but replacing the unit did no good. Nobody else in our neighborhood has had any smelly water (we have town water, not a well) and neither have we except for this odor when towels are used.

Has anyone got a Zanussi washing machine I am looking to buy a new one. I have been looking at the Zanussi ZWF1631W Extra capacity and wondered if someone has this machine how they rate it. The other machine that I am looking at is a Bosch, no model number though.

I'm leaving for the lake in a few hours, and I had clothes in the laundry that I NEED ta take, but now the dryer isn't working. I can't hang em up outside, cuz it's raining. I have em hangin on the shower rod in the bathroom at the moment, but that takes for forever. What else can I do?

My husband got a little blood on his shorts. We soaked them in cold water and used a little detergent to get it out. We thought we had, put them in the washer and dryer and now see that you can still see it. Any ideas of how to get it out since it's already been through the wash or are we out of luck?

I have an adorable 100% rayon dress that I machine washed (cold/gentle), and it shrank. Due to some alterations, the care tag was removed--I'm assuming it said Dry Clean Only, but it's too late now. Is there any way to reverse the shrinkage caused to an item that was washed when it should have been dry cleaned? Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks.

We are about to buy a house where two smokers lived for 20 years. We need suggestions. There is carpet in only three rooms. Everything else is vinyl or tile. The walls are paneled or wallboard. The ceiling is celetex or compressed fiber type of tiles.

My brother and good friend have been living together for 25 years. They are moving to a new condo with washers and dryers already there. They asked me if i want to buy theirs that are 10 years old. I asked them how much and they said offer me a price and I said $100.00. They said they would rather throw them away. They said they wanted $750.00 for both. My family just bought a new house, and it is very very dirty! The toilets are yellow, the tubs are black and the house has a very bad smell becuase the previous owners had a dog and there's crap all over the house! Does anyone know what will clean teh toilets and tubs?And how to clean other appliances such as the microwave,stove,counters. I heard that this "toilet wand" does a good job but im not sure...And also does anyone know any good paint brands? and what paint should we buy?thank you!~
