If there are no pets around, fleas will move to humans. It doesn't matter if you are a clean person. You could have visited a friend with and dog and say your friend had given their dog a flea bath. The fleas would jump on you because the dog is basically off limits to them. Also, if you are actually seeing one or two in your house, you probably have them worse than you know. You may want to consider a fogger in your house and maybe treatment for your lawn.

Transportation of fleas into the home occurs due to this insect's ability to hop onto a host. Fleas dwelling outdoors may survive under shrubs near buildings, hopping off one host such as a dog, cat or person and then hopping onto a new one. In cases where there are no pets, it has been shown that fleas may come in with other "uninvited" animals such as mice, rats, squirrels or raccoons.

Did you just move into the home? Is it an apartment? Does your neighbor have pets? If there are cats around they are the worse! It may also be because your yard is sandy as well. Fleas aren't because you are or aren't clean.

I do not knwo where you live, but I do knwo that fleas are horrible in my area. You can get an infestation and own no pets. Fleas will hitch a ride into your house on any living blood donor. Did you know that fleas can survive for months on dust mites?! SKEERY

You might have a furry house guest. I would invest in some live traps and see if you catch anything. Bait them with peanut butter. Mousies like peanut butter.
