Removing oil stains from your garage floor is easier than you think and helps prolong the life of your floor. This helpful tutorial walks you through different ways to clean that floor with simple household materials.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 30 Minutes
Here's How:
Cat Litter: Sprinkle cat litter on the stain and crush and grind it into the oil stain with your shoe. Let set for an hour then sweep up.
TSP: Using phosphate free TSP cleaner (Tri Sodium Phosphate), create a gallon of cleaner by mixing one cup of TSP with one gallon of hot water. Wearing eye protection and rubber gloves, pour the TSP onto the oil stain and let it soak in for 20-30 minutes. Then scrub with a plastic bristled brush and rinse with a hose. Repeat if needed.
WD40: This common household lubricant has been known to clean oil stains as well. Spray on and let the solvent soak in for 15 minutes. Then rinse with a hose and repeat if necessary.
Paint Thinner and Sawdust: Mix sawdust with paint thinner until it is damp, then spread the soaked sawdust over the stain. Let it soak into the oil stain for 20 minutes. Sweep up the sawdust and reapply if necessary.

Mix some dish soap and water, soak the stain with it and cover with newspaper. Remove the newspaper and oil after it dries. The oil and water soaks up through the newspaper, as it dries the oil stays in the paper.

No, get the new Popular Science mag, I think. Just saw an add for this white creamy stuff you pour on the oil stain, let it sit and turn into dust, sweep it up. Looks great - I'm gonna try it.

get a $3.00 bag of cat littler put some on the oil grind it into the concrete just stand on it and really work it into the oil with your feet sweep it off it might need a couple of times depending how deep its soaked in but it will tale it all out.

spray oven cleaner on the oil spots let it sit for 45 min ( keep kids and animals away) then rinse well with water and if possible use a pressure washer it works wonders and a heated pressure washer is a miracle worker after its cleaned use cat litter on new spills pour it on grind it in with your feet and sweep up

kitty litter. put it on the stain and leave set over night. may need to do a few times. we use it for highlift oil

WITH LIQUID DEGREASER AND A BRUSH..BUT FIRST THROUGH DOWN SOME CORN STARCH OR KITTY LITTER...LET SIT A WHILE YOU WILL SEE THE OIL GETTING ABSORBED IT WILL START..TO PULL UP THE GREASE OR OIL THEN GET UP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN THEN USE THE DEGREASER WITH A BRUSH LIKE A BRISLE ONE ANS SCRUB AND THEN THROUGH DOWN HOT WATER WILL REMOVE INSTANTLY..IF NOT TRY OXY CLEANER THATS IS GOOD TO...GOOD LUCK
