I'm a singer and I live an apartment building with wooden floors. I can hear the people who live below me so I need the best soundproofing for the floor and my bedroom door. The walls are okay because they don't connect to other apartments. I would like to spend under $100 for everything, even better if it's under $50. Does anyone know the best store or website to find soundproofing for a bedroom floor and a door?

Ok, first of all I have a small kitchen and a small budget. My house is very old and the last time the kitchen was remodeled looks like some time in the 50-60s. I just bought stainless steel appliances for the kitchen, to replace the non-working olive green 70s era ones, so there is like no money left. The cabnets are painted white, which are fine for now. The counter top is white with pink flake in the design, eww! The backsplash is all bright pink tiles. The walls are yellow. Since it will be a few years before I can remodel, and this is my first home, I would like any suggestion of a masculine color to paint the wall the would maybe make it not so bad. I was thinking a chocolate brown? Any inputs? A $20 gallon of paint has got to be better than this ugly color scheme. Thanks for any help

there can be upto half the window filled with water, not steam, which then runs down the window onto the ledge causing puddles. this is then getting under the ledge and causing it to rise up. also, when you open the windows up water can be found in the bottom of the frame.it can be found on every window in the house, even the doors. we were given a fensa certificate when they were fitted, is it worth anything? does this sound normal?

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator 3 years ago. The door on our refrigerator has developed some sort of problem to where it will not close easily or stay closed. If we open the freezer door and shut it the refrigerator door comes open. I came home from work yesterday evening to discover that the door had sat open for 10 hours and had to throw all of the food away inside. What are some reasons that the gasket on the door can become decompressed or be worn out? My husband recently cleaned the refrigerator and I swear it has never closed well since he cleaned it. We have a repairman coming to look at it but it will not be covered if the owner intentionally or unintentionally damaged it. Would using a cleaning agent on the gasket do this? Also my ice maker only produces hollow ice cubes. What could be the reason for this?

HELLO, I have a high concentration of plants and pets in my room (many of the pets have dirt floors and live plants), and recently I've had a lot of fruit flies swarming about. I believe the problem started when my guinea pigs had a bit of a digestive problem, leading to swarming in the guinea pig cage, and I believe when I cleaned the cage the remainder started breeding in my plants.

SO how do I get rid of the little bastards? Chemicals are most likely out of the question. And yes I do realize this question is asked like every week.

WHAT I'VE DONE is I put a little saucer thing and squeezed some honey in, and tilted it around so the entire inside is coated. Now will the flies get attracted to this and get stuck like planned? Is there a better bait to use? I use beer and coffee grounds for slugs in my garden, and I saw a previous question like this that wine could work, does it?

I have a good understanding for how A/C systems work, but I have a typical (7 cu) small freezer that I am repairing a leak on, that I do not appear to understand how it works. I am an amatuer and not a professional, but I am an electrical engineer so I guess you could say I am not a complete idiot.... :)

On the high (condensor) side, one end goes out of the compressor to the condensor coil located on the back of the freezer. The the other side of the condensor coil, however, goes back to what I think is the dryer, but the other side of the dryer is pinched off and dead ends. Meaning, it does not appear that the loop of the condensor coil goes back to the compressor... It appears rather odd...

On the low (evaporator) side, I can see where it comes out of the compressor, but it does not appear to come back.... Meaning, it leaves, and does not appear to link to any expansion valve / Dryer I am aware of...

Am I missing something, or is this A/C freezer seem to work

I just moved into a new home in northern North Dakota, where it is seriously cold. The driveway's cement is just a few months old. All the driveway salt that I have found says it is not for use on new concrete (as it can crack more easily). Does anyone know if there is a product available that will de-ice new concrete? Thanks for your help.

I just washed 2 loads of clothing and they all came out dingy and streaked with grey stuff. There weren't any pens in pockets or anything like that and I can't find anything in my washing machine or my dryer.

Everything went through the dryer so are they stained like that now?? Is there a way to get out the stains if they are stuck in there?

Should I wash more clothes or will they come out stained, too?!

I'm really stressed out because I just had a baby not too long ago so only a few shirts fit me right now and ALL of them were in the load of laundry that came out ruined so I have nothing to wear to my doctors appointment, and my baby's clothes were in it too and they are also ruined and she also has an appointment today so needless to say I'm a bit overwhelmed right now!!!

I am looking for a way to preserve a few of the blooms off of a Christmas Cactus without having to dry them and without altering the color too much, if at all. These flowers are VERY special to me and I would like to have one to keep forever. Thanks in advance to anyone who can tell me.
