Hi,

I have some pipes running vertically up a corner of my kitchen. I'm planning on boxing them off and am wondering what sheet material will be best for the job as it needs to be water-resistant, suitable for painting (or plastering I guess..) as well as being tiled further down.

I was thinking WBP Ply but will this cause issues with expansion? Is aquaboard plasterboard the answer?

Thanks

Hi everyone,I need some help on relocating a dryer receptacle. It is 3 prong surface mount. It is a couple of feet away from a pantry, which is where I would like to refeed it.I do not know if the receptacle installs straight
into the drywall itself or into a stud, and does it require a gang box and what kind or size? Do I use 10-2 wire to the existing wire and wirecaps/electrical tape? Is it ok to install it beneath a window or is there a nec code about placement of receptacles near windows? My local electrician at best estimate wants to charge $90 plus material.I am competent to do this myself since a recent Rangehood install went great. I appreciate
all help and advice as i would not like to have to chunk over the expense unless it is best suited for the pro..
Thanks

I bought a thermometer and it says my oven is 550 when it should be at 375. I particularly don't care (we are renting) because we rarely cook in the oven. I was telling my mom what I am planning on saying to the owner, and when she heard that it was that overheated, she mentioned how once her element blew up, and her neighbors had also, and that they were both lucky it happened with the oven door closed or else they could have lost their faces looking as they know them.

Anyway, the question is, what would cause an element to blow up like that, and should I ask the landlord to fix it since I don't care that it is off (I just go by the thermometer).

Thanks, Emily

My wife and I are turning a suburban backyard into a mini-food forest. We had a couple of fig trees on the place when we bought it. One of them does a good job of producing edible figs. The other tree crops prolifically, producing a large number of good sized figs. But they're tasteless! They have a white pulpy interior (which is cardboardy in texture and lacking taste) with little of the juicy, purple interior that table figs have.

The tree looks very healthy. It is in a brick corner facing open to the south and east. It gets a lot of morning sun and the upper leaves get afternoon sun as well. Is there something we can do? Perhaps a missing nutrient?

Thanks

David

I have honey colored oak cabinets. I realize that reds would look good but I don't really want red. I was thinking of doing a cobalt blue theme...maybe with lime accents. I am not sure how that would look with those colored cabinets. So what color do you all think would look stunning with honey oak cabinets? Not just blues...any colors. If you are a professional-please state that when answering. Thanks!!!

Bare with me, please, sorry this is long!
I have been using baby wipes that are not flushable. I finally realized that when my toilet plugged up a few weeks ago and overflowed a little. When it happened I turned the knob for the toilet all the way to the right and the water turned off. Luckily, it started to go back to normal and stopped overflowing before I even turned it all the way off.
Tonight all I did was flush a spider down the toilet with a piece of toilet paper, and it started to plug up again. It was so close to overflowing, but it didn't. I didn't have a plunger, so I turned the toilet off and went to the store to get one, and bought a box of RID-X. But I don't want to use it until it flushes back to normal. It will flush, but it will fill up higher than normal before it does. I now know to not use baby wipes that aren't flushable. And I've been plunging for a while now and I've only gotten like one baby wipe out. Nothing after that.
