im getting married in july of 08 and my boyfriend is in the marines so we will be liveing on base so i want to find cheap furniture and deco stuff i know of walmart ikea target ect.. but i want to know about some places online that i could look into because i need to know about how much im going to need to save by then im so confused please HELP

Congrats to you, and Semper Fi. I was a Sergeant in the Marine Corps. Try looking around the base. There are always Marines getting reassigned to somewhere in the world so there is usually a great deal to be found in the base newspaper. There is also thift store on everybase to get house stuff for cheap. Remember to save money when you can because there will be times when paychecks get messed up and you may not get any money for 1-2 months sometime. Also that really cool decorative item wont feed you when those times come. Always fill your pantry first

Try the yard sales, Goodwill, thrift stores and discount stores like what I call junk stores - they have a little bit of everything.
James H is right - those other places can get expensive. Just today bought an iron and a hand mixer for $3.00 each. If I had gone to Target or Wal-Mart or Ikea I could have easily spent $50.00 to $75.00 easily.
Make sure to fill up your cabinets with lots of basics and non-perishable foods.

If you have an Ikea around your area, thats a good place, got my daughters bunk beds and my son a nice wooden bed for under 350, all nice furniture. Just a pain in the *** to put together

after my divorce I used craigslist to furnish my entire apartment....I found really nice crate and barrel and room and board stuff for cheap...it takes more time but you can get higher quality furniture cheaper than you can buy that crap from Ikea or Target. I would just search for C&B or room and board stuff so everything matched...

the good will or a flea market are a good place to find deco kinda things also ther is gibralter trade center they have some pretty cool stuff
