I am replacing the old strip lighhts in the kitchen. When i removed them, one has the standard three wires coming out of the ceiling, red, black & green/yellow. This seems normal. However, the other one has-three reds all already joined together....three blacks all joined together, two yellow/greens tied together and finally a pair joined ,one red and one black.
All i need is a neutral and a live to connect the new fitting. How do i know which is which? Why is a black already joined to a red? Surely this is a live connected to a neutral????

I have a bunch of stuff in my room that I really need to get rid of. Clothes, blankets, toys, books, knick-knacks, dolls..... you name it I have it. I want it to go somewhere where someone will get it who really needs it... for free though. Not someplace where they will have to pay for it. Where is the best place? (I live in Southern California LA area if that helps)

This week Im starting an unheated greenhouse in NC, about halfway between Hendersonville and Charlotte. It will be 10feet long, wide and high. Can any novice greenhouse growers recommend what seeds would have a strong growth potential? I want to have a successful first year experience and Im doing this for a hobby with about 6 hours a day to invest. Any advise would be appreciated.

As I was putting on one of my favorite wool sweaters today, I noticed it had a hole in it. The affected area is about the size of a dime. It was recommended to me that I take it to an alterations place to have it fixed. How much have you paid for a service like this? The answers will help me decide if I want to do it, and, if I decide to do it, whether the estimate I get is reasonable.

Is there any way I can get rid of these lines from a pair of grey school pants that have previously been taken up? I bought some grey dye but the instructions said it would only work on natural fabrics. I tried permanent marker but that just washed out in the wash. Just making a last ditch attempt before I give up and throw the pants out - at $60 a pop it is worth a try.
