My lovely old labrador died three years ago and we buried him in the garden. We're on water restrictions so the garden isn't very healthy at all except in this one spot where my old dog is buried and the weeds grow profusely. My partner came up with the idea of growing vegetables there. I do miss homegrown vegetables but I cant imagine eating anything which my old dog has fertilized. What do you all think of this?

Just like having backyard pick up , what is it worth to have someone else roll your trash can out so you never miss the trash man and should one offer in a bundle to take the can back after it has been serviced ? if so how much is reasonable for you to not worry about your trash anymore? Per week ,per month etc.

The flea bombs say to turn off gas furnaces before using the bomb or it could explode...I have one furnace in the attic and another in the garage. They are fairly new and are the kind with an automatic pilot light (instructions say never to "manually attempt" to light them myself) but is there a way to turn them off for the purpose of setting off the flea bombs? I will also need to turn them back on.
****I have people coming on the 4th to professionally get rid of fleas but with a baby kitten, the vet says I must do something between now and next week.

I'm getting married in October and I need to either make or buy inexpensive tablecloths. I really don't like the look of plastic but paper seems like it will fall apart if it gets wet. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do that won't look cheap?

I have a crack developing in my Granite Counter tops. I am not the original homeowner. They were installed by previous owner. The warranty appears to be valid only if the original purchaser still lives here. Is this typical or warranties on granite counters? Seems like I have no good options at this point other than just to live with the crack and someday replace the whole countertop. I was getting ready to reseal them but not sure if I should yet. Is the crack worth worrying about? Can it lead to bigger problems? The crack is near the gas range so I'm guessing that the granite is not responding well to the heat changes near the oven installation. The crack also appears to be growing sort of like how a crack in a windshield gradually gets bigger and bigger.

We moved into our house in September, and as we just recently tried to shut off the outdoor water spigots for the winter, we realized that our interior shut off valves to these spigots leaked if we tried to shut them off. So, we hired a plumber. He came yesterday, shut off the water to the whole house, and put in new valves. Problem solved, right? Well, no. Since he came here, 3 of our homes faucets or tubs have lost hot water pressure. Cold water pressure is fine, and the hot water is fine everywhere else but in these 3 places. The plumber says the water pressure issue is unrelated to his work, and that it is an issue related to the hot water heater and sediment - and that he didn't touch the hot water heater, or the faucets in question.

I know nothing about plumbing, but common-sense tells me this is more than just coincidence.

Do you all have any thoughts or suggestions?

I don't know too much about toilets but I'm renting a house that's over 20 years old.Lately my toilet has been leaking water all around the bottom of it and when i mop it up it came up like reddish color on the mop. And i think this was from the holidays when i got sick and threw up and it was red. But it's been leaking for over a week now. It kinda stinks like sewage but only sometimes and it's not that strong of an odor. Does anyone know if it might be the septic tank? i live in the high desert and all the homes up here have septic tanks. someone told me it could be the septic tank backed up or something. does anyone know if theres any way i can fix it without having to call a plumber?

The lights in one room have suddenly stopped working. flicked the switch on but not one of twelve halogen lights worked. The fuse never tripped, what are the possible causes? I suspect that as we had some kids jumping around on the floor above, the tremors have caused a wire to come loose and break the circuit. What's the best way to test this? Will I have to take each light out and check that the wiring is intact?

We live in a mobile home, and I noticed my bed was at an angle. I was curious why, so I looked at the carpet. I just thought it was a little hole, but the problem is much worse. My grandma and I cut the carpet, and this is what we see.

It doesn't look like it, but this hole is deep. When I look in, I can see pipes and insulation. How can we repair this? Thanks.

I've read about using the iron, and using either a brown paper sack, a paper towel, or a newspaper. My problem is, I am out of all of these products! The wax has been on the carpet now for an hour, and I won't be able to get it cleaned until Sat night or Sunday. It is a light pink wax on a beige carpet. I know it may be best to get it out right away, but I don't have a choice right now, as I have to leave on a trip. Will it come out 24-48 hours later?

I just bought a emerson replacement fan motor for my outside heat pump unit. When I pulled it out of the box it only had a white wire and black wire. The old motor has a black, brown and purple wire. The Heat pump is old and I can not afford a new one just yet. How do I wire the new motor to the old heat pump when there is 3 wires and the new one only has two? The wiring diagram is saying to use the brown with white stripe for three wire hook up but if I do that how will I hook up the capacitor for the new motor? Can anyone help?
And getting a new heat pump is not the answer either for the ones who just wants to get points.

Thanks
Chad
