It depends on which type of algae.
Know Your Algae

If it's the type of algae that is making your pond look like split pea soup, It's easy to clear up in a few days if it is that type it will eventually cut off the oxygen supply to your koi which need more oxygen than most other fish.
Koi Need Oxygen
Koi need a lot of oxygen, almost as much as we do when resting.

You have several options, I myself like seeing the bottom of my pond and what is down there that needs to come out. I run an aerator and 24 watts of UV lights and biological filters.
My pond is 2000 gallons. Maybe 3 or 4,000 come spring lol!
[Some people use barley straw to clear up the algae but that doesn't put extra oxygen in the water for my koi.]
I'll give you the links for best prices and where to get the best information.

Garden ponds and the Koi are expensive hobbies but well worth it.
I have Koi,goldfish,comets,shubunkins
and 2 perch for birth control of the goldfish. I guess I'll have to pan fry because they aren't doing the job lol!
I have new ones every spring. (just so you'll know those 2 perch are part of the family as well.) I had a construction worker out here one day and he looked in the pond and said they were the biggest perch he ever saw and he wanted to catch them. I guess feeding them like the other fish increases their size.
Good Luck!

A realist finding owl will shop lots of the birds away that must be eating them. issues which will flow interior the wind and/or make noise will help some with raccoons. I had raccoons raiding my fowl coop for eggs one 12 months so I have been given turtle sensor. Its shaped like a turtle and runs on batteries. If something crosses in front of it, it is going to start up making a noise. i complete up having to maintain 2 of them interior the fowl coop. Weasels or martins may be a genuine subject too and the noise makers look to help somewhat with them besides. Raccoons are the greater serious with the aid of fact they're fairly sensible critters. The noise makers in elementary terms labored for a jointly as with them. White baggage fluttering interior the wind in elementary terms labored for a jointly as. they're cunning little pests which could shop you busy complete time attempting to outsmart them so in the event that they're your subject, in simple terms shop changing issues around lots. you additionally can upload a place on your pond the place the fish can hide out in yet make beneficial its firmly related to the backside of the raccoons will pull it out.

first, i agree with grannygrunt.
is your pond exposed to direct sun?? if so, surely you will be having algae problems. not only that, you kois may suffer from "skin burns". for me, basic requirements are : biological filter (filter mats), mechanical filter (brush), aerator (hi-blow), pump (i use Sequence pump) & ultra-violet light.
good luck!!
