Put them back in the drawer the way they came out of the wash, after a while they will get sick of turning them right and hunting for a matching pair. If that doesn't work stop washing inside out sock and when they need them they have to wash them themselves.

You could take 50 cents away from their allowance for each sock you find. Might work, depending on how much your kids like money. My kids are 4 & 6, so it's in one ear, out the other. I don't expect that to change for the next 20 years.....Good luck!!! Another idea, is just don't wash the socks. When their friends ask what that smell is, and your kid knows it's coming from his/her socks, they might start helping you out!

I had that problem long ago.I told my girls to have them right side out for the laundry.I also told them I would not put their socks in any other way.Their socks were marked with their initials and I would get them out for them to hand wash.Only done it once,then all was well with the laundry queen....

You sure are ambitious!
I gave up on that YEARS ago.
Now the undies drawer is a hodgepodge of undies, socks, etc.
They can root around until they find a combo that kinda matches.
I try to limit myself to reasonable expectations like them keeping their room "neat" enough so I don't take my life into my own hands when I enter it. Sigh. Well, it is a dream of mine anyway...

Don't do anthing. Kids need to be free to put anthing in the laundery.& get your little girl a sellphone.& your big boy a bathroom in him one room. LET THEM DO WHATEVER THAY WANT!!
