How does a recessed alarm contact on a window for an alarm system work? How do you install one?

A recessed contact has to be installed in the channel where the window goes up and down as well as a magnetic strip on the window...not the easiest to do but it can be done. Most systems have surface mount switches and contacts but they can be hidden/recessed for looks. Call some local alarm companies for pricing and options.
