It's SO easy to replace yourself. I have replaced 2 over the years, myself-no help from a man, and it was not complicated nor did it take very long. The directions that come with them are uncomplicated, very direct. Save yourself the expense of the plumber and use the money for something fun-like maybe something chocolate!

A plumber is your likely repairer but you may look for a local handyman too. This is not a complicated replacement, I have done it twice myself and I am not the most mechanically inclined person in the world. You can get replacement disposals at your nearest home improvement store (Lowes, HomeDepot, etc).

Garbage disposals are not all that difficult to install, but if you're nervous about doing the work yourself, then call a plumber.

It is actually pretty easy to install. Do you have a brother, cousin, newphew, neighbor, sister, aunt, etc who is handy? You can look on line at the instructions and see how simple it is. I put one in a while ago. it is not rocket science. A plumber will charge you big, big bucks,.
Take a look at the link below to see if this is something you think you can do.

Call a plumber or handyman especially if it's a direct wired unit unless you're comfortable with doing plumbing and possible wiring....they're not hard to do.

A plumber or the place you buy it from might do installs. Try Sears.
