We have an upstairs toilet that works fine, but the water in the bowl is very low when not in use. The water rises to a normal level when flushed, but it doesn't fill back up completely afterward, an air bubble comes up when the handle is pressed. My husband would like to fix it himself. What's the problem and what can he do to fix it?

I'm going to be redoing my upstairs bathroom and moving the bathtub so it goes parallel to the joints. I'm planning on putting an additional subfloor down however should I worry about the weight of the tub? If so, any ideas of what to do?

I have an Whirlpool washer model # WFW8300SW and a Whirlpool dryer model # WED8300SW... Can these be stackable? Can you put one on top of the other without messing the other one up?

I posted a suggetion that home and garden should be broken into more parts. I know that the DIY and Maintenance parts are a pain the way they are right now. I feel they should be broken into parts ie.. electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, roofing, walls, etc.. If it were that way people could answer questions with expertise much easier. Pets are already set up this way. If you agree please go and vote!

I just spent the past few days Putting up holiday decorations. I have a REALLY big house so its hard to decorate it. (Roof and top floor is hannukah, two floors are christmas, The bottom floor and front yard just wintery like snow flakes and snow men. I have to questions, One is I bought these lights and i spent hours on a cherry lift putting the lights up and i tested them before and they turned on up to halfway then stopped. I waited a second and they turned on so i figured if I had the problem when I put them up I would wait a second and they would turn on. I put them up and I had the same problem. I figured I'd go do something else for a while and come back. I cam back and they were off. I jiggled it and twisted the bulbs and nothing worked. what should i do. and # 2 do you think i orginized my decorations good. Last year I just mixed everything and It looked tacky. Any way PLEASE answer.

I heard they leave and die if they don't will the mice smell? they are in a wall that we can't reach unless we knock the wall out. husband is allergic to cats so that isn't a option. Thanks

I lost power to all six wall outlets in my master bedroom. I have checked all GFI breakers and all main breakers, I have been told it is possible a neutral on one outlet might be loose and cause a loss to all outlets. Any advice would be helpful

Hi I currently have a cream deep pile carpet on my stairs and landing but unfortunatley our puppy had a couple of accidents on the landing part of the carpet, and no matter what we have tried, nothing will clean it completly. So I want to remove the carpet from the landing but leave it on the stairs. I do not want to put more carpet down but Im at a loss as to what i could put on the floor that will be primarily safe and easy to clean. I have children too so it can't be slippery. Underneth the carpet on the landing is chipboard.

My room gets so messy so fast! It can be spotless one day, and an hour later, a total pigsty. So what can I do to keep myself motivated to keep it clean? I know what to do, just keep it picked up everyday. But is there anything I can do so that I actually do it? Like hang up something that reminds me or something like that? Any other ideas?

I have a brush that is stiff with varnish, but I don't have any paint thinner or turpentine on hand, nor do I have the means to go get some. Is there any household substitute I could soak it in to get the residual varnish out so that it is flexible enough to use again? Thank you!
