I have tried to adjust the linkage but the lever stays in the up position (closed). I have also bought a new cotter pin to try to make the spring on the estucheon plate tighter. I'm very frustrated with what seems a simple problem.

I've heard a difference of opinion about when to "cut in" paint at the corners and edges of a room.

Theory A: Do the edges first. Make a "frame" and then roller in the rest of the wall.

Theory B: Do the edges last. Do the roller work first, covering as close as you can to the edges, then touch up edges while the paint is still wet - using a light feathery stroke. This guy says the finish will be better than option A (above) as there's better blending.

Theory C: It doenn't matter, before or after, as long as paint is still wet.

Any comments, people?

I'm sure different kinds of grass are more hardy than others. And certainly a Great Dane is going to have a bigger bladder to relieve than a little kitty.

But my question is really about my neighbors who know we have fines for pet debris that is not picked up by the owner. But when it comes to urine, they seem to have a much looser attitude and it just ticks me off when they let their pets be drawn to one spot on my lawn that has become their favorite.latrine, and I'd like to make the argument "You are killing my grass"...but I'm not sure how correct this would be, horticulturally speaking.

I remember the neighbors around Wrigley Field in Chicago were up in arms about intoxicated baseball fans relieving themselves on their bushes and flowers, using the argument they were killing their plants. And they got some pretty strict fines for that put in place. How much truth to is there to the argument that urine kills grass? Is pet urine worse than human urine? When is it "too much"

the upper half is drywall, insulated, the lower half is brrrrr concrete, it already is thicker than the upper half which has all the wiring in it, so I don't want to fir it out and redo but more like put an insulator directly on the concrete and maybe texturize it and paint it

ist that possible? thanks

For my science fair, I have to figure out if Shout, Dreft, Simple Green, OxiClean, Resolve, or Publix will work the best. Can anyone give me the names of books that I can order that tell me about the chemicals in these stain removers and how they remove stains, because I need atleast 5 book sources for my bibliography. Websites are also appreciated. I know they have a Stain Removing for Dummies, but will that help tell me how they remove stains?? Thanks

I am in town at ym parents house, and they have had a problem with a pet, I think a cat has been urinating on the rug. They cant find the exact location and it doesnt always smel.. they have tried many different things, like shampooing the rug, Resolve, a bunch of carpet cleaners and still the smell persists. What can be done about it, any home remedies or something. My parents are really wanting to avoid buying a new rug considering this one is only a year old. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In the past few months(ever since autumn started), I've noticed that my office's window has been unofficially serving as a hangout for flies. A lot more flies have been flying and buzzing around this window than during the previous warm summer months. These flies tend to be a little larger than normal and much slower-moving than normal, i.e. easy to swat and kill. Last week, I killed as many as 5 flies in one day from that particular window. Today I killed 2 more.

Is there a reason for this??

Perhaps flies become slower and dumber in their last days of life after the summertime ends? Has anyone else observed this? Or, do you think there is some kind of chemical near the window that is attracting them there?(the window seems pretty clean to me, other than a little dust)
