Bleach is for whites. Unless your article of clothing says specifically NOT to use bleach. Some fabrics can't handle it.

Yes, it can be used for stain removal and for whitening. However, bleach can damage your fabrics if used excessively. It can cause the fabric to gray or yellow if used too much. It also weakens the fibers in the fabrics and your clothes will wear out faster.

There are whiteners that are safer to use. Try using Shout Ultra Gel next time you get a stain on white clothing. Spray warm water onto the stain first and then apply the shout.

Also, adding oxi-clean to your wash water and detergent will brighten your whites.

I've been a chef for 27 years and have worn white chef uniforms everyday for years. I have tried all kinds of laundry aids and this method seems to work the best. Bleach works great for a while, and then after a few months my chef coats began to turn gray.

Hope this helps

Yes, bleach is good for whites but remember it must be diluted first!!! Don't pour it onto clothes! Fill the washer with water, add the bleach and detergent and swish around before adding clothes.

Now if you have hard water with high minerals like iron, bleach will turn the clothes an ugly yellow. So it's not for every water type. In that case an hydrogen peroxide bleach such as OxyClean is better.....use it as a presoak in the bucket the wash with more OxyClean.

Don't test the fabric... go to Wal*Mart and buy a bottle of "Shout" or "Spray and Wash" both work excellent if you're worried about messing up the polo just use "Shout" it's only a few dollars.
