My room gets so messy so fast! It can be spotless one day, and an hour later, a total pigsty. So what can I do to keep myself motivated to keep it clean? I know what to do, just keep it picked up everyday. But is there anything I can do so that I actually do it? Like hang up something that reminds me or something like that? Any other ideas?

This applies to not just your room but your whole environment. Develop a habit of NEVER putting down something you have used until you can put it where it belongs! NEVER! Dirty clothes in the hamper, clean ones on the hanger, trash in the bin, food in the cupboard or fridge...
Then all you ever need to do to clean a room is dust a bit.

Well, don't clean once a day. I just pick up anything lying around, anything that you see just clean it that minute, dont wait till later just do it that minute and the mess wont pile up. I have a five year old and a seven year old, and I hate a messy house. When I am walking around the house, I just pick up and clean up anything that I see.. Hang your clothes the minute you take it off, put your shoes away, have a place for your books, bag, extra things, and most important dont bring food to your room, dont sit on the bed and if you must straighten up after wards and your room will be allot more cleaner.

as a life long clutter bug survivor...I think the first thing is to find out what is "out of place" start there and then you can organize like things ( all mags go in this box..when the box is full you have to get rid of some before you can buy more) if it is things like clothes then you need to re-work your storage area...maybe you have drawers but never use them. If so then try hanging your clothes and using the drawer for some other storage that you don't need every day!! Good Luck!!

Print out this web page and tape it to your door. It can be a reminder that you need to clean your room (or keep it clean) and that it's a major problem for you because you sunk to the level of posting on yahoo! answers in front of millions of people that you are too unmotivated to keep your room clean ;)

Everytime you go in or out of your room pick something up, or put something back in its place. I do this to all the rooms and my yard. Like when I go out to the mail box i try to pick a weed

Picking up after yourself is a learned habit, so you will just have to get in the habit of doing it.

I say set a schedule for yourself. If you set schedules for yourself then it wont seem so bad to clean it.
