My goodness - you have soooo many options! Here's a list of a "baker's dozen" + a few other possibilities, too.
Thrift stores
Goodwill
Salvation Army
Habitat for Humanity Thrift Center
Furniture Consignment Shops
Craig's List for your area
Classifieds in your newspaper
Ads in any local or free publication in your area
Garage Sales
Estate Sales
Ads on bulletin boards in laundromats, library, etc.
Multi-family yard sales sponsored by churches, clubs, schools, organizations, mobile home communities, etc.
Used furniture stores
Storage Places (Call to see what they do with furniture belonging to customers who do not pay their storage rental bills.)
I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of now. No use living with an ugly couch, when there are so many bargains out there! Good luck.

Have you checked thrift stores? Sometimes you can find a good quality couch for little money. I just bought one from Craig's list that looks brand new. It's a sage green sectional that cost me $400. Good luck.

Why not recover it? If it's comfy and well made, you should be able to find something you like at "Potato Skins" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
