Unfortunately my new place has green carpet. I'm renting from a friend and can not recarpet as he is attached to the color. The furniture/bedding colors are predominantly tan and black in my room. So basically I'm looking for something that will go well with these three colors for my walls. I'm not opposed to wall paper, in fact it seems like it may be easier.. I'd like something that stands out, but isn't too bold. Any ideas? Also, extra credit if you can tell me where I look for examples. :)

I wipe my bum after I go number two but after I change into my PJ's and put my clothes in the hamper I notice big, dirty skid marks. I try washing them out with normal laundry detergent but it doesn't come out. My friend told my to use a mix of bleach and lighter fluid but I think he was joking but I'm not. Help?

I plan on decorating my apt. soon with dark oak mission furniture, along with accent pieces like lamps, shelves, and picture frames in espresso.... but I don't just wanna limit myself to those colors. I'd like to add a little touch of ivory or bone white to my decor but don't know how to work with them. Do these colors go well with dark oak and espresso? And are there any other colors that I should consider using? I'm trying to give my place a warm cozy look, but I need some ideas.

My son has a really nice new top which is dark red with white sleeves. I have never successfully managed to wash a top like this without the dark colour running into the white, even using a Colour Catcher sheet. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I have a small, basic 3 bedroom ranch home. It is not fancy, and the bathroom needs repairs. But, I just made the last payment, and it is mine! Now I 'd like to do some things like remodel the kitchen & bath, replace doors & windows, add a laundry rm, etc. the problem is I am lousy with stuff like that. I would like to hire an interior decorator to come in and give ideas & estimates. How do I even go about hiring one? Is there a big fee? Do I go thru them & they do the contracting? My small town doesn't even have one, & I'd have to go outside of the city. Are all of them basically the same, or should they have a certain lisence? Please help me out-and pease no sarcastic answers.

She says that she read this somewhere but I can seem to find anything that can back this up. Can anyone provide a link to some information that either backs up this claim or refutes it? I started leaving out the fabric softener when I do the sheets and towels (yes, I do the laundry) and now the towels are coming out stiff as a board. Is fabric softeer really going to damage my sheets and/or towels?

I like that they are antibacterial and I LOVE they way the LAVENDER Lysol smells. I figured a couple of teaspoons is okay. Or is irritating for your skin? Or can it run your clothes? They should make anti-bacterial Tide by now! One other questions, does COLOR SAFE BLEACH kill germs, is it anti-bacterial? I'm very paranoid 'cause I recently had a MRSA staph infection. I'm using regular bleach with the whites but not sure what to do with the colors. And I like my clothes to smell SUPER FRESH but I don't want a rash. Any ideas appreciated.

I called Brink's to find out how much it cost for installation and they are now scheduled to come out on Friday. I saw online where it says it cost $45 for standard installation. Is that how much it would cost to install a security system or is there more to it then they say?
