I like that they are antibacterial and I LOVE they way the LAVENDER Lysol smells. I figured a couple of teaspoons is okay. Or is irritating for your skin? Or can it run your clothes? They should make anti-bacterial Tide by now! One other questions, does COLOR SAFE BLEACH kill germs, is it anti-bacterial? I'm very paranoid 'cause I recently had a MRSA staph infection. I'm using regular bleach with the whites but not sure what to do with the colors. And I like my clothes to smell SUPER FRESH but I don't want a rash. Any ideas appreciated.

Tide makes soap that smells like lavender. Any Clorox 2 product is anti-bacterial.

Forget Mr. Clean. It is basically a detergent that suds to much in your machine.
Tide does make an anti bacterial, I've seen it in stores locally, perhaps not in your area.
Dilute Lysol will likely not damage any clothing. It does work well as an anti bacterial. Try it on your fabric in an unseen spot first.
Oxygen (most color safe) bleaches also have an anti bacterial effect.
Your best anti bacterial is just washing with hot water and a decent detergent. Then drying well. If you are in a good sunny climate the best way to remove bacteria is to dry your clothes in the sunlight. Do not use fabric softeners. They contain resins that coat the fabric and trap moisture. Moisture is what allows most bacteria to grow. Do not store your clothing in plastic for the same reason.

I use Lysol in my laundry because my step-daughter has staph infection. I'm trying to prevent the rest of us from contracting it. I like you and very paranoid about MRSA and other germs. I also like my clothes to be fresh smelling, but the Lysol does make them smell a bit like a hospital. At least they're super clean and our skin isn't irritated. I just use a couple of caps full to a laundry load. I use it in my wash rags, towels, dish towels, and bed sheets. Good luck. 2D

First MRSA is alot more common then people think and its because Dr who over prescribe antibiotics and people who didnt take them as prescribed.

If it kill germs it is consider antibacterial. Dont use Mr. Clean or lysol for laundry since it can irritate your skin. Color safe bleach works as does your regular bleach.

To use regular bleach with colors you have to be a little more careful. 1/4cup in the full wash prior to adding cloths works well. I started using bleach with my towels after getting ringworm and my house is very clean. I sanitize everything especially when it comes to the kitchen and bathrooms.

I use a capful of liquid Lysol if I have to wash items that have been vomited on, etc.....never had an issue with it harming us or the clothes/linens.
