Does anybody have experience with this machine. Was it worth renting or would hand sanding have been just as effective? Thanks.

I just bought brand new Ugg boots and sprayed them with weather proofer, but then got caught in a down pour. They were a gorgeous soft mahogany suede and are now crispy and a horrbile sandy colour. I will never wear them again like this but wondered if it is possible to restore suede back to its former glory? If so is this expensive? Any suede experts out there?

I read somewhere that conkers keep spiders out of your house as spiders don't like the smell of them. Does anyone know if this is true because I have a massive spider phobia! Thanks

My terraced house has old common lead suppy. I've been told by the waterboard I need to upgrade, which means digging up my front garden and feeding the plastic pipe in and connecting to my cold feed. I can do all that, but I have solid floors how do I get the pipe through the foundation and up? from my garden?

hey, i have the basment which has a wood wall finish, it is all around, from the living around to my bed room to a spare storage aread room (where the a/c boiler ect is.) and kitchen area. everywhere but the kitchen area is wood flooring too. i have a curtain as a seperater from the lounging area to the storage area. i was wondering what to put on the wall i was wanting a 3 or 4 piece art, on my wall or something just to have on there. the walls are still in nice condition and i dont want to paint over them or whatso ever. its just the what you call "lounge " area. i have blue couches that go there. it was originally a 3 piece "L" shape but i took the center piece and put it behind the computer/work area corner to watch movies or just when i have friends over because we huddle around the computer at times, but any idea's/ suggestions, thanks! here some pictures. its the wall about the blue sofa's. thanks!

I have a tight nap, light brown carpet. some of the stains will not come out with Sears' Capture dry cleaner. These stains are just plain tough. For mildew reasons, I prefer a dry cleaner, but the stains must go, and the carpet is much to expensive to throw out.
HELP Thank you Lee

Got the engineer out and he replaced the control board and said that he gave it a full service and left it working 100% as he put on the service report, and said i had a 12 month guentie, Know less than a month later its broke again. My question is should he charge me when he comes back out. need help asap.

I am installing hardfloors in between rooms. Unfortunately I didn't take into consideration the amount of transition molding I would need. Not to mention I didn't realize how expensive the moldings are.

What is the cheapest and best way to go from carpet to hardfloor?

Also my carpet is a lot higher then the hardfloor now, how do I do the transition? I don't understand how the carpet will stay against the molding and not lift up.

Would appreciate some help.

A week ago our dishwasher was leaking. This week we had it replaced, but now I notice little bugs around that area and I'm assuming they are gnats. Very tiny and are just hanging around on the floor by the dishwasher area. Need to go to the store tomorrow and look at sprays, but don't think it will be a long term solution since they do multiply fast from what i've read.
Does anyone know how to get rid of them for good?

I have an open concept living/dining room with openings into the kitchen and hall. We are not doing crown molding into the kitchen or hallway and I can't figure out how to finish it off at the very edge of the room nicely. How do you cut the very last piece if it doesn't continue any farther?

I have tried to kill a tree by cutting the tree down to the roots. I have even put motor oil for the roots to die but the tree still resurfaces. Any ideas on how to kill a mature tree permanently?

The carpet is rather dated, and my roommates cat tore a couple holes in the stuff also. Would giving the buyers (if I ever find any) credit towards getting any color new carpet they want better than installing a color they might not like?

These tiny bugs look like some kind of mite and they are dust particle size. You can't even tell they are alive until you look real close and see them moving. Literally there must be millions of them. Any idea what they are and how to exterminate them without an expensive exterminator?
