I know the local refuse will not pick them up. Who will take them?
What are you supposed to do with them when finished?

I don't know much about plumbing, but it's been driving me mad! I have water from the main water supply and I can run the washing machine with no problem. The problem is the toilet has so little water and my sink isn't working as it should. I'm calling a plumber but how I do actually address the problem to him? I'm scared i might be taken advantage of since I'm living on my own and no idea about valves or pipes at all! What kind of answers i might get from a plumber? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

They are about 5 years old and have seemed to be growing ok. But lately they are dying. I keep them watered and fertilize them a few times a year.

I have a few questions regarding chimney liners

1) I will need 2 liners about 20 and 30 feet long. I have gotten estimates ranging from $1500-$5000. That is obviously a wide margin. What is a reasonable price for the liners installed with insulation

2) Half the contractors/shops I spoke with said insulation around the liner is necessary, while the other half said it wasn't necessary. Is the insualation necessary?
--we have an outside brick chimney. The flue 'is cracked in a few areas', this is why we need a new liner

3) Another contractor I spoke to said it may be necessary to take out the old clay tiles before putting the new liner in. would this be necessary if I'm getting a new stainless steel liner put in? considering nobody else mentioned removing the current tiles.

Any advice to save me a little money would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I have some hostas in a rock garden, in a very shady spot, that look just terrible, holes all over the leaves, and I know it's from slugs. Honestly, rather than combat the slugs, I think I'd like to plant something else there, something low or shrub-like maybe. I live in Michigan, for zone reference.

Anyone have ideas for plants that could do well in a spot like this? Looking for something fairly easy, low to medium maintenance.

Moved into a new home this summer, starting a few weeks ago the acorns started falling, hundreds, maybe thousands of them!!! All over the lawn, the garden, bouncing off the metal shed, the house, people etc. What is the best way to remove them? Hard to rake or blow with a leaf blower.

I have a succulent (not sure of the kind, but it has a stem and radiating leaves) and it keeps growing up tall, instead of out. The bottom leaves don't grow any bigger, it just keeps growing taller, and it's starting to lean.
Can I cut it back? If so, where exactly do I cut? And can I propagate from the cuttings?
Thanks

My bosch dishwasher is acting up, it fills no problem on the first cycle washes for the allotted time, then drains out, at this point it should refill, but doesn't, it still tries to wash but has no water in it, as it fills the first tile i know that the water is getting in there, so its not the inlet or anything like that. It does the same thing on all programes so its not the program thats at fault does anyone know what it is. Have tried a good kicking didn't help. Anyone got any ideas please.

Specifically I am looking for ideas of things that I might be able to help my 5 year old make since we don't have much extra money right now. The 2 year old is really interested in blocks, babies, and animals right now.

I have an 18 year old 8m x 4m swimming pool and in previous years I have noticed a slight blackening of some of the white tile joints. This year perhaps because it has been much wetter weather, the area of black joints is much much greater and quite unsightly. I presume it is algae build-up and have tried chrystal chlorine and brushing to no avail. How do I eradicate this.

I have a heavy duty 100 ft extension cord and want to buy an electric power washer. I keep reading reviews that say that they can not be used with an extension cord. However, because of outlet placement, I have to. Is there a guage cord I could use?

I am having a new stairway fitted in my house. The stair parts are already coated in clear varnish but I want to use an Oak coloured varnish so that the stairs match the varnish on the rest of my skirting boards etc. I can't decide whether to apply the coloured varnish before or after the stairway is installed. I think it would be easier to get a good finish if I varnish it once the stairway is fitted but would love to know what the professional decorators do when they varnish new stairways as I will follow their advice.
