Since fruit is defined as having seeds, perhaps there should be a different phrase used instead of the oxymoron "seedless fruit."

I am so inlove with this tree i just went a bought one right when i saw it without doing any research....
I found out that they can spread 30-50 ft width and my yard is 36x36ft :(((((
I've heard that if you want to keep a tree small you can plant it in the ground in a container...and i've seen it but can this apply to the willow?? I hear they have an aggresive root system so maybe using a stone container under ground would be a good idea if the general idea of the container can really work with the willow... I really want this tree in my backyard so please any ideas would be appreciated!!!

I need a new combi boiler, circa 100 000btu. It needs to be fitted in replacement to the old boiler which is knackered. In addition I need the Gas Pipe moved extended by about 5 metres for my new oven.

I have been quoted £1700??? This seems way too high; am I wrong?

In the follow up to this question that has now been closed, I unplugged everything on that circuit, and it still flicks back down, would it be worth a try unplugging every single thing in the house and retrying?

Also if I have to replace that switch, is it simply a case of switching main red master switch off at the end of all switches, pulling it out and pushing a new one in?

hello --

I'm getting my own place. I love this retro style fridge in red or white! Is this too much money to pay for one ($2990)? Is it a good size for 1-2 adults? My kitchen style will be in retro -- black, white, and splashes of red. Why are all these "retro" style fridges priced higher than like computerized GE models, etc.... I'm in my 20's. thanks.

On removing old paper from a wall in my lounge, pieces of plaster came off. I have had these patches plastered now and all is o.k.
My question is, can I use some wallpaper paste that was left over from the hallway that has just been decorated to size the wall before papering?

A skunk has apparently taken up residence in this storm drain that goes under our neighbor's driveway.

A couple weeks ago, neighbor tried to frighten skunk away by shooting air rifle up in the air and making a dreadful racket. Didn't scare skunk away.

Another neighbor's dog barked furiously when skunk went into their yard. Didn't scare skunk away.

Tonight, we came home after dark, after visiting friends. Skunk was in our yard. I went into our house quietly. Don't want to scare skunk. With my luck, it would be me who gets sprayed.

Any ideas on how to get rid of him?

I've got some garden pests I need to identify. They are small black caterpillar type insects that congregate in excess of 50+ and systematically eat a plant one leaf at a time. After the fact, there is a skeleton of the previous leaf structure remaining. If it's any help I live in Texas. I'd like to use a homemade organic deterrent, rather than a broad based insecticide. Therefore, identification is kind of important.

I recently just purchased an old farm house built in the 1900's. The floor is being raised, but we are finding a lot of broken glass and animal skulls all over the crawlspace...more in some areas than others. The skulls are actually what we think are deer or horse...they are big. Our question is how did they get down their.....someone had to have put them their.
Is their some kind of tradition or superstition that goes along with this?

For whatever reason, the neighborhood cats LOVE to poop and pee on our lawn. They also dig it up with their claws when they scratch around. They act just like dogs, and now our front yard stinks, and our lawn has dirt patches and big patches of yellow where the cat urine killed the grass. Does anyone know of any good ways to keep cats off of the lawn?

Ok, here's the deal. I'm moving into my brother's house...into a room that's not really small, but it's not big either. The whole room is white and I don't want to paint the ceiling, just the walls. I want to leave the trim in the room white. There is a giant window in the room that covers the entire wall opposite from the door. It also has a closet big enough to stand in. Here's the problem...I'm a big fan of anything black. Obviously making everything black isn't a good idea. I have a big screen HDTV that will be wall mounted that is black also. I have two floor speakers that are dark grey. My dresser is a medium brown color. I am going to buy a black sheet set because I really want black sheets. I would also like to hang stuff on the walls so they aren't bare either. I've narrowed down my idea to making the accessories black, but not sure what to paint the walls to contrast the blackness of everything else. I don't want anything too bright and girly either. Any ideas?

I live in zone 5 and I'm beginning to get into growing my own plants from cuttings and seed. I don't have room for a big greenhouse, but I'd like some way to continue growing my little saplings and rooting my outdoor cuttings during the winter. Has anyone used those mini greenhouses? Are they for indoors or outdoors? Are they worth the money? Thanks!
