I have a very large Western Redbud and it flowers beautifully and also produces seedlings. The humingbirds love it. My house is from early 1950's and the tree has been there a while. The seedlings grow readily, so I am sure that variety would do well for you.
I also live in the Phoenix area.

I'm pretty sure the Western Redbud is native to AZ, and sure it is here in hot SoCal. It does well with heat and after getting established does well in drought.
The Eastern Redbud also does well, and comes in several very nice cultivars.
