i have a dark slate blue sofa - so probably similar - i have cream walls and matching blue curtains - i have a huge canvas I painted with Australian gum blossoms - i did the leaves in blues and the same color as the sofa and the blossoms in yellows, creams and some watermelony sort of colors and whites - looks brilliant
navy is such a versatile color - looks good with wood, yellows, creams, or the very patriotic red and white!! You could do that and frame a patchwork flag on the wall -

Cream/beige looks nice, or for something different you could try lighter shades of blue. I would do beige walls (like a nice coffee with milk color? Light, rich brown?) and turquoise curtains. And throw pillows & accents in different shades of blues and greens. Wow I have your whole living room done! :)

white would be very traditional but might be kind of boring. Blue and brown are hot color combinations right now, so if you are feeling daring, I say go for it!!! It doesn't have to be dark chocolate brown, maybe something like cocoa ? Good Luck!

How about a subtle tan. Not toooo dark and definetly not tooo light, and then you could accent with moss green colored or terra cotta colored pillows or even both on the couch. Then how about an ivory color for your drapery. You didn't mention your flooring color? They always say to go neutral for your colors. Happy painting! : - )
