not a riddle !
i was just going to say dig a ditch with a pick ax to the depth of the roots, take out the rocks and boulders, line the ditch with an inch or two fertlizer and then lift the treeinto the dith and back fill the dirt. Water generously
if the roots are wrapped and tied cut loose the burlap sack.
other than that the fact that you asked the question means there is an answer
plant an X in the center, that takes 5 trees, take the sixth tree and plant it between any 2, you have 3 rows.

Carp feathers the whole thing makes no sense. Farmers don't calculate or plant that way.
He would plant them adlib plant all 6 in a row or 2 rows with 3 each or 3 rows with 2 each.
This question is not for this category. It has nothing to do with planting and everything to do with distribution.

Just plant them where each row must have 3 trees...and there are 3 rows total...But that equals 9.....??? what is wrong with this picture???? Ha!!!
