I read somewhere that conkers keep spiders out of your house as spiders don't like the smell of them. Does anyone know if this is true because I have a massive spider phobia! Thanks

It is working in my house. I had a run in with a couple of huge hairy spiders a few weeks ago. Since then I have put 1 conker in the corner of every room, I've also bought some "No More Spiders" spray which I've sprayed round the edges of the windows and doors. Since then I haven't seen another spider at all! Try it, it does work, good luck.

I heard this for the first time ever a few weeks ago & I was quite surprised. Apparently, the person in question had conkers on the window sill to keep the spiders out. I would also love to know if it's true as I also have a phobia of them.

Being that there are already differing answers to your question I guess the best way to find out is to try. Good luck!

Yes - it does work. I havent had a spider problem since I started putting bowls of conkers here and there throughout the house.

what are conkers? Here in the midwest of the usa we have these things called hedge apples, they are large green bumpy ball type things. They are also called osage oranges. they are supposed to keep spiders away but I have never found it to be so. In fact, I have 3 of them on my kitchen counter right now and all they are really doing is tempting the cats into jumping up there to check them out

Yes it is true. But if you have dogs, they love to chew the conkers.
