buying a house w/ a green pool. house has been vacant and pool kept unkept for probably the past 6-8 months. any ideas on if this will be a pain in the a*# to clean? the pump has not been run at all (i dont think) for 6-8 months, and the previous owners said they never had any problems w/ the pool, but nothing has been done to it since they moved out.

Can I use a striper like I would for varnish. The trunk is really old and I want to resrore it. I won't be able to unless I can get the dec-a-poge(sp?) off. Does any one have any answers.

I need to use a mat cutting board to cut a mat for a large photo, but have never used a mat cutter before. I think I'd be a little more at ease if I could find some directions or a tutorial of the basics of using a mat cutting board. Can anyone point me to one or tell me how to use one? Thanks :)

Hi dear friends, could you please tell me how I should be able to clean the steel blades of my clipper. I have not cleaned nor oiled the blades since I bought it and dirt and thick oil which looks and smells like rust has been formed on the blades which has slowed down the blades. It smells bad too. Also could you please tell me how I should be able to oil it after I clean the blades? Thank you very much in advance. Sincerely, Rojin

My love seat is really soiled and I can't afford to have it cleaned. Also, I am disabled, so I don't know if I can tackle it.
What is the best product to use and the best
method? Would I be better off to get a slipcover?

Well, my Whirpool Water Heater 9(electric) stopped working a few days ago... no hot water! I have done all the troubleshooting possible but nothing yet. When I purchased my house the water heater was already here but I do not have anytype of receipt of purchase not even the manuals. I do have serial number, etc because they are noted on the unit. Will Whirpool honor the warranty? what will they cover? should I just call somebody else to fix and not worry about the warranty? (I mean if it is going to be a hassle...) Thank you all!

I was hastily vacuuming my apartment, when I accidentally jammed the stupid thing on a door frame. After that, the pitch of the motor changed, it became harder to push, & it seemed to just move floor gunk (cat hair tufts, loose pieces of carpet, etc) around instead of picking it up. Also, it started emitting a burning smell. From what I can tell, the spinning brush in the front has become jammed & has stopped freely spinning. I can't see how I can get it unjammed. And again, that's just my best guess as to why it's suddenly not working. I've checked all the tubes & they still seem to be connected. Any ideas, folks?

I already have floor adhesive for tile. I also have some grout, but, don't know if it will hold it together or if it's just for looks. So, what will work that I don't have to buy something? The 2 pieces are on a lazy susan and the back had to be pieced, free stuff. Remember the top has about a 1/4 inch edge around the whole top. So whatever I use can't fall down under the counter. (you won't believe this but this counter was from Aug 07 and was used to make pallets!!! I will paint all the edges. This isn't a permanent arrangement I hope, but, then remodelling an old house is a nightmare.

We are looking at an old trailer in a lake area to buy. In the backyard there is a pipe that goes down the yard and then has another pipe attaching to it so that it makes the top of a T. The ends of the top of the "T" are open. The owners say that clear water drains out of it. Is this normal? Is this a good system? Is this a defunct system that would not pass inspection these days? What are we dealing with? Also, how long can a septic system not be used and still be okay?

I just moved in to a new apt with a washer and dryer. I noticed that everytime my next door neighbor turns on his dryer the gas that it emitts enters my apt through my dryer. My guess is that our vent is connected and clogged. He says the same thing happens when mine is on. What kind of gas is emitted from a dryer? Is it harmful or even deadly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
