Hi dear friends, could you please tell me how I should be able to clean the steel blades of my clipper. I have not cleaned nor oiled the blades since I bought it and dirt and thick oil which looks and smells like rust has been formed on the blades which has slowed down the blades. It smells bad too. Also could you please tell me how I should be able to oil it after I clean the blades? Thank you very much in advance. Sincerely, Rojin

Use a brush and get the residue out as much as you can. A tooth brush works well. Brush then turn it on and off and brush again and wipe. I use a mineral oil cream on mine, and I just put it on the blades and spread it with a brush again. Turn clippers on and off and wipe the excess. The oil also helps to loosen up the residue.

You can use a old toothbrush to get the hair that has gotten embedded in the clipper out sometimes the blade is so dull they have to be replaced but they can be sharpened if you know where to send them. Best bet just buy a new blade clippers should be oiled every couple of times you use them. Just oil the blades themselves not the clipper.

Scrape off excess with a putty knife and lightly brush with a scouring pad. Rinse and dry well. When we bought ours gas trimmers last week they said to use mayonaise or cooking spray, because wd-40 , etc. hurts the plants as you cut them!!. Leaves a toxic residue from the blades. We spray after each use with cooking spray, found in baking section of any grocery store.

Like the other said, use an old toothbrush and clean it as good as you can, dip it in cooking oil, be careful, use just a little and when you put the oil on them, turn them on so the oil sinks in. remember, not too much oil.
