Buy a holder that fits the can and get it install quick
Previously I had a John Deere 20hp mower and on the right side over the rear wheel arch was a a indented plastic holder, dont know what is for but it held 3 cans and there was a round indented holder at the rear of it which held the open can , but you have to drink it reasonably quickly as the mower vibration tends to cause beer to go flat
Whats with that answer, waiting for 10 mins. if it only takes 10 mins to do lawns what are you doing with a ride on
My Lawns used to take at least 2 hours, sometimes 3. Then there was about 1 hour with a walk behind mower

to spectre, about the ten minute thing, I think burning and I share some neighbors lol. Small lawns, that some lazy people use riding lawn mowers for, although my lazy neighbor takes about 20 minutes to finish not 10. Other than that, I totally agree with her. Do you really want some drunk guy mowing over your flower beds, small pets, and children? I understand wanting your cold beverage, but can we keep it non-alcoholic until the dangerous equipment gets put away? You wouldn't accept the "want my cold beer on a hot day" excuse if it was some city worker operating a steam roller during road construction in july who just ran over your car. All I'm saying is no alcohol until AFTER the work is done.

An auto supply store has small units that include cup holders - some places even have ones that mount with double-sided tape onto a flat surface.
But driving a lawn mower while drinking isn't a good idea (its not even legal in some places). Its a motorized vehicle, and driving while drinking is just asking for trouble of some kind.

CHEERS!
I assume this isn't a relationship killing issue; and it may just be a power thing for him; not making him a candidate for AA.
I see it as a reasonable compromise. You want the lawn cut; He does too BTW. Keep the kids and pets indoors and alert the neighbor with the prize winning flower beds. :)
If zoning isn't an issue you might suggest buying goats and letting him care for them.
I suspect it isn't illegal unless he runs the mower down the road to get more beer.

some people work hard all week. Their is no harm in a man wanting one beer while he's mowing. Doesn't mean he needs to go to AA!!!

Your husband appears to be an alcoholic and you appear to be enabling him. No moving vehicle should be operated while drinking, even a lawnmower. I really hope you don't have neighbors, children, or pets because your husband is a safety hazard to everyone around him.
Seriously, how bad of an alcoholic do you have to be that you can't wait 10 minutes for your beer??
