To get rid of the centipedes, you have to eliminate the moisture their seeking. These guys need damp, moist areas to live.
Look for any source of moisture such as; leaking drains, a dehumidifier's drain pan leaking or sweating, moisture seeping through a crawl space / basement wall, etc.
Once you find the source of moisture, fix it and the centipedes will go away on their own.
Same goes on the outside of the house. Eliminate places to hide like, rocks, bricks, dead or dense ground covers next to the house. Fix any leaking faucets and improve drainage.
Bottom line; get rid of moisture and hiding spots, then these guys will pack up and move on their own.

Boric acid and Miriatic acid can do more harm to a baby down on the floor then you even thought of. They are a chem that was cheep and used buy people before they knew better. Get an exterminator to use the right stuff in the right places.

You may,... have water damage somewhere, or a water leak, they like rotten wood, or damp wet areas. Fix this problem and your centipedes might decrease, or be gone altogether. Get rid of the rotted wood, or rotted drywall,.. or if it's a basement, find why it's backing up, or holding water making things moist and damp. They love this environment. By the sounds of it, you have hidden wet areas somewhere in the house, if you have tons of them. Hope that helps.

You can't find a centipede in a clean and dry premises. Keep your room tidy and once in awhile use insect spray to drive away centipedes, mosquitoes, cockroaches, ants, etc. harmful to the family. If you find a centipede, cut both ends of it and let it go outside.

This is not from my personal experience but my own pest control guy who is in business for more than two decades told me that pool filter power is best and totally harmless to us. In pool store ask for DM powder. Good Luck
