Yes, you can use red and yellow together. Just look around in nature. You'll see red and yellow flowers....such as tulips mixed in a single bed and the result is incredible...so if it works in nature why should you not use it in your home.
Look at Waverly fabrics, in Joann's or Calico Corners, you'll see lots of yellow and red together....my dining room chairs have red cushions with yellow dragonflies embroidered on the fabric.
Just be careful in not getting too bright, or mixing too many of the same color....reds can be hard to match, that's why they need the balance of yellow....but in the same tone.

I just did that in my kitchen. I have lots of Coca-cola things, so I asked the guy at Sherwin Williams to color match that red for the trim & the door. Then, I painted the walls "Solaria" yellow. The yellow turned out a little brighter than I expected, but I think it looks good & it really makes all of the reds POP! It's very cheerful, and much better than the dull beige & white that it was before. I'm also thinking about putting a plaid yellow & red wallpaper on the backsplash, or may stencil "tile" with a mixture of those two colors.
Now I just have to get the right fabric for curtains.
Good luck!

Sure you can use red and yellow. Football teams (think KC CHIEFS do), but I would be careful unless you want a bold look. If you get a color wheel, or research it on the internet, you will see that red and yellow are not one of the formulas for harmony. However, one site gave this advice...Nature provides a perfect departure point for color harmony. In the illustration above, red yellow and green create a harmonious design, regardless of whether this combination fits into a technical formula for color harmony. Good luck

Sure you can! Most colors can be mixed in a complementary way if you do it correctly.
Most of the retro kichens have very bright colors. Remember the roosters people had years ago? They appear to be making a comeback, and they are red, yellow, and green, with a bit of black. That's one idea.
Paint the room red, or paper in red print, and use yellow in curtains, place mats, potholders. Or vice versa.
Find a print with red, yellow, and white, to use for all fabrics in kitchen. [ flowers, stripes, ,plaid, etc. ]
suggest you use white for hard to change items, like counters, floors, and use the brighter colors for walls, fabrics, small appliances, decor.
