Firstly I would like to say I am a complete idiot! I am trying to unplumb a dishwasher...which resulted in me flooding my kitchen...apparently I should have turned the water of first. (see told you i was dense)

Anyway I have disconnected one hose from the sink and the back of dishwasher now (the cold water supply i think) There is another hose like thing in the back of dishwasher.......I am presuming this is a waste pipe ??? Anyway I kind of pulled it and it has become detatched from under my sink and smells gross....is this normal? My sink is at opposite ends of the kitchen and these pipes are behind my kitchen units how can i remove them with out breaking my cheapy kitchen up (its cheapy but I cant afford a new one) Should it be simple enough for me to fix this problem on my own? Or will i need a plumber which I cant afford?

Thanks in advance its getting me really down...new flat and needing to get moved in. x

Besides hiring an A/C tech, how do you know if the A/C system is adequate for the size of your house? Is there a formula?

Sometimes you can just barely hear them, but other times it actually splashes the water up out of the bowl. Both of my bathrooms do this, and so does my kitchen sink occassionally.

I've done the green and khaki theme already, but I want something new. I also don't have a lot of funds. So what are some colors that go with sage green walls? Also, how can I decorate this room for cheap? Thanks!

Just recently I purchased a dark wood high "bar table" for a dining room table in a small apt. However, when I clean it with pledge and put the placemats on top the placemats seem to turn the table a lighter color. I think they are soaking in the pledge so I've tried to keep them off for a few hours to let the pledge set but it still happens. Does anyone know of any cleaners that will just "clean" dark wood not "polish" it?

Hi, i am in need of some fresh and different ideas to finish my garden. I hope you can understand my explanation of what i have done so far...My garden is 26ft x 19ft, From the back door there is a semi-circle which is 11ft wide x 6ft, then surrounding that is a larger semi-circle which is 19ft wide x 10ft. Both semi-circles are edged in charcoal pavers and filled with plum slate (20mm in small, 40mm in large). At the bottom end there is a shed and kids play area which covers 19ft wide x 7ft. The problem is the middle area, about 19ft x 9ft. I don't want a lawn, i want something interesting and different with a dark feeling, i'm using mostly white flowering plants. Also it needs to be quite cheap and fairly easy. In the play area i've got bark but the dog keeps eating it. The soil is clay, very hard to dig. Please help i've had 8 weeks of thinking due to broken foot and all i come up with is a headache. Thanks in advance. Any ideas welcome.

I have pets and don't want to use any sprays. I've tried Terro in the past and the ants treated it like candy and swarmed on it. I have a very clean kitchen and this is driving me insane!
