Can I use a striper like I would for varnish. The trunk is really old and I want to resrore it. I won't be able to unless I can get the dec-a-poge(sp?) off. Does any one have any answers.

Do you have any idea what the substance was that applied the decorations or clear coated them? It might make a difference in the strippers/solvents that would be most effective. What might be as important is the structure of the trunk.

Old trunks gain value when any labels are left ON
Don't remove them.
DECOUPAGE can increase value especially if it is interesting.
