I have a very small landscaping pond that we purchased at Home Depot quite a few years ago. I have around 20 frogs that we have been enjoying. I was taking a closer look into the water today and noticed very small (I mean VERY small) black bugs (?) that looked like tiny worms wiggling through the water. Quite a few were feeding on a dead frog. The pond is loaded with them. They are only as big as around 1/10 centimeter thick and maybe ½ to 1 centimeter long. I also noticed the pond looked like it had a lot of sand scattered in the bottom, but upon closer examination it was tiny bugs that looked like sand, clinging to the sides and scooting around the bottom. My husband said the black bugs cannot be tadpoles, they are much too small. I haven’t done anything with the pond this year since it is right next to our deck and we have been working on the deck. I have no plants in the pond. Can anyone tell me what these may be? I live in Michigan.

Hi! I live in a very old house (200+ years) and I would love to know some specific history about it (maybe who lived here, what the house used to look like, how the surrounding land was, anything). I haven't the slightest idea where to begin to look, so any and all suggestions are appreciated! Thanks! :-)

I live in Florida. The neighbour has a live oak tree. My garden is full of shoots. Are they coming from the roots or seeds? The ground is full of roots. I have tried weedkiller but they just sprout again. Any suggestions about how to get rid of them or what to plant in the area. I gave up trying to dig the roots out. This garden has been negected for years, so I am trying to get it into shape.

I applied SUPERthrive to my Venus fly-trap and then the traps began to curl and now the traps wont even close when the trigger hairs are stimulated.

The leaves are young so it isnt because they have closed too much. I already understand that each leaf has a limit in closing.

I want to buy one for my mom's birthday. But it isn't until November. Can this plant be bought all year around? Or is it hard to find in November? (as that's not really the time people usually buy plans for the yards). And is there anything specific I should know before buying one? I've heard they prefer sun and moist soil. Is that correct?

I'm wondering what kind of plant this is. The nut it came from looked very similar to an acorn so I'm assuming it is a kind of tree. Now I just noticed today that the some of the little buds on it are flowering. Thanks in advance for all answers. Here I have some pictures of it:
