I was thinking aboput using Borax, I've read that it has disinfectant properties, but, I also have washing soda, and baking soda. To tell you the truth, I'm worried about worms! If you've got a quick powder/vacuum carpet fix, for getting it really clean, and as close to disinfected, or antibacterial as possible, please let me know! :)

My elementary school has a conference room with a mish-mash of items. The soundproofing on the walls is gray (on one wall). The carpet is red - yikes, but no changing that. The room is very dark and dingy with old furniture that does not go together. I'm trying to give it a makeover to make it a calming pleasant place to be - not a dark dungeon. My first thought - chair covers; maybe a table runner in a bright color; and some sort of window treatment with color. One wall is a white board (floor to ceiling), another is the gray soundproofing and the other two are a beige type color (maybe once upon a time white). There are 3 small windows - but being in Alaska it doesn't bring in much light during the winter.

Any ideas to make this dark dreary room into a beautiful comfortable space?

Hello-

I'm interested in either making -OR- buying a device I can add to the inside of my front door which allows me to deadbolt it when I leave. The automated deadbolt mechanism would be activated by a remote control and ideally be dual powered (battery & adapter plugged into the wall). I'm looking for a solution that does as little damage to the door as possible and allows me to keep the existing lock & deadbolt.

Basically, a remote control deadbolt that can only be unlocked from inside or with the remote. Thank you!

Bath, shower, toilet and sink is downstairs. Upstairs there are just bedrooms.

Would you consider buying a house like this?

I redid my entire kitchen with the exception of the cabinets. They are painted white. Now I am considering having the cabinets refaced in a cherrywood stain. Will this go well with white appliances (many of them new) or will it look dated?

Has anyone used a combination of coke, dishsoap, and tobacco for lawn fertilizer. I had a gentleman tell me that this combination made a great lawn fertilizer and weed killer. The tobacco was for insects. I would like to try this, but I do not know how much of each to put into the mixture. He said he put the mixture into on of those hose spray bottles and just water his lawn with the stuff.

I'm getting a birthday present in stages. I've asked questions, but haven't gotten many answers.

So far, I know that its largest dimension is 18 feet.
It is made of wood.
I was given two router bits that fit together sideways:
______ _______
(______))______(
and when it's finished, it's very valuable.

Can someone tell me what it is?
