wow so easy with these answers !
I have over 30 years doing electrical work and only needed adapters to make everything work.
Was NEC book(National Electrical Code),my other Electrical books a waste of money ?

I would have sold you a 240 volt 30 amp circuit for a electric dryer.
Being rental property you will need to go through landlord.

The dryer runs off a different voltage than the normal outlets that you have in the house. Dryers will mostly run off of 220V. You will need to get an electrician to install a new circuit from the breaker box to the dryer. Good luck.

Is it a gas or an electric dryer ?
Edit:
If you have city gas , return the dryer to where you bought it and buy a gas dyer bc
it will be a lot cheaper to use in the long run.
Have your landlord replace the two prong outlet with a proper three prong outlet.
If you want to go with the electric, your landlord will need to have a licensed electrician install a dedicated 240v/30a line to the dryer.

The dryer runs on 220; the outlet is 110. There is no adapter; you need to make sure you have a 220 line or call an electrician

I am not sure if the sale of adapters is still legal, the problem you have is that there is no female opening for the male ground.
If you use an adapter, you are not grounded, and that could be dangerous.
You would probably be wise to have an electrician rewire the socket for a three prong plug.

You will need a 240 volt 30 amp receptacle for the dryer. There are no adapters. Check with the landlord to see if he will provide it.

If the outlet only has two its not intended for a dryer application. A dryer outlet should be on a seperate circuit and have what they call a nema ground, any thing less is a dangerous situation. Please call an electrician!

The dryer has three prongs because it's a requitement for large appliances to be grounded. It would be a better idea for you to change out your socket and make is safe for you and your family than to use an adapter.

You obviously don't understand electricity, seek advice from a professional or you might hurt yourself or damage the machine.
