Ignore the mess on the antique turntable - my kids left it for me.... I think the area above the fireplace needs something, but the space above the tv I'm most worried about. I'm trying to spend as little as possible.

Last one is dark but it gives an idea to the amount of space between the prints:

I found 2 different 12 x 12 canvases at Target, to possibly go inbetween:

Or this sconce, but DH doesn’t want more candles:

What is the least expensive way to create a patio? It needs to be functional for cooking and entertaining. It also needs to be something I can do on my own. I am very busy and have no experience with renovating.

I was told that if I used this motif in helping a friend decorate his living room (the layout and several items already in the room would lend themselves to the decor going in this direction) I could be sued or prosecuted. Is this true? If so, please cite the specific case law or statute. Also, if it is true in your state, is it also true in Virginia? Thank you.

We have a fairly new evaporative cooler that the float never rises enough on it's own to intiatiate the automatic water stop. So water rises and overflows on the stand and onto carport. I have to go out every two hours and turn water off at the spigit and then go back out and turn back on. I tried bending it down like the guy at hardware store said, but it still does it. When I raise by hand, water does shut off. it's like water is not strong enough to lift? Do we have to put water in the actual plastic piece? We tried changing to a new float this year, same problem.

I have the kind that is cylindrical in shape and attaches on top of the agitator in the middle of the washer. I do not have the instruction manual. I can't help but think there must be some neat little trick out there to get it all clean (it's kind of gunky and looks gross, especially around the opening that you pour the fabric softener into). I don't want to just experiment and end up putting something in it that I can't get out until it comes off on my clothes! Any ideas?? Thanks!

I have a Mecardonia "Goldflake" in a hanging basket. It was beautiful up until a few days ago. The under foliage has turned dark brown (it looks like it is burned). I have watered them religiously and they have never been "over dry", so I don't know if this is normal or if they have been burned by the sun. The flowers are not blooming as much as previously. I have moved it to a less sunny area since the hot weather started, but I am curious if I did something wrong. Please help :)

My garage wall is brick mortar. I am hanging the rubbermaid Fasttrack rail (organizer). I was able to put one up but now when I drill the bit only goes in about 1/4inch. I am using a drill and bit designed for this material. It's like I am hitting something. I thought it might be rebar but doesn't that run vertically through the brick? I have tried hanging another rail a few feet below the one already up and same problem I can only get about 1/4" into the wall. If I was hitting rebar I should not have been able to place on directly above it. Suggestions would be great! As I am stuck with what to do next.
