How much does it cost to replace a guitar string?

I am a new guitar player and a snapped a string.

Depends on the brand of string you buy... the 'average' string runs about $3 ... or you can buy the whole set, for less than it costs per string, usually.

You can buy strings from your local music store, or online... yes.. even eBay has them... you can find them there for around $5 set.

free, if you do it yourself.

you should take it to your nearest music shop or whatever and ask them to show you how to change/replace strings, that way you're less dependent on them. before i learned how it cost $15, if i remember correctly.....but they were just a small little hicky country music shop....
