There is this beetle that comes out in the summer in Torrance, CA ( June - August ) Its pretty small and has a reddish brownish color, and they fly into my house and it drives me nuts! Today i was making a sandwich when i found a beetle in the mayo. Yuck! What is the name of this beetle and how do I get rid of it?

My neighbors have large areas of lush, healthy, great-smelling lavender. I don't think they do anything to it. I planted a couple different kinds and one died, the others are very spindly.

(Also, am I s'posed to cut them back after blooming?)

Small, thin items, wash cloths, dryer sheets get stuck in this groove that goes all the way around the opening, then it's hard to pull out and covered with rusty stains.

It's a fairly new problem, but seems to be getting worse.

Is this something a technician can fix? My husband wants to tape it up, but I said no way. I think duct tape glue would get all over everything after it gets hot!

The dryer is only a few years old, is the groove likely expanding with age?

I'm wondering if there's an internet site out there with ideas for landscaping, including pictures and descriptions of many plants (size, shape, etc.)
Is there a site like this out there?

Thanks.

just happened in the last few weeks after all the rains we've had in North Texas.
this is an established crepe myrtle - about 20 ft tall.

So these past few nights we have heard/seen racoons on our deck and on our back lawn. We live in a fairly big city and this just recently started. We dont leave any trash/food out. What can we do to get rid of them?? Is trapping the only real thing? We have 2 toddlers as well, and I dont want to take them outside....I'm afraid they might find some coon turds or something!!

Some ideas I have are roll-up doors or doors that role along the wall to the sides.

I am planning to upgrade the bedding in my entire house and decided to go for the best this time. Is Egyptian cotton the best and softest of all? I am going for separate sheets, covers, comfortors etc., as opposed to "bed-in-a-bag with pretty designs" which I had previously, so that I can select higher threadcounts...what threadcounts are considered the best in Egyptian cotton?

Lastly what are some good places to get these from?

(Only soft bedding enthusiasts answer!)

I have been complaining about this problem for months now only to have the building maintenance guy come and do a half job plugging up the holes near and under the cabinets and sink. We have also had a problem with roaches here for about 3 years. Aside from moving (our lease is up in August) what can be done about these issues when the people who own the apartment building are not doing what they are supposed to do in helping to get rid of the problem?

The area under the oaks is dry, the dirt is very hard clay, and the roots are surface. I want to create a natural looking landscape that is not cluttered. I'm told not to plant too close to the tree for fear of fungus disease. Any suggestions on plants and designs would be wonderful!

This is in Oakland CA.

I have this saw and the speed control board has gone bad,so i am going to try and use a variable ac or dc power supply to run the saw,but i am not sure which one the motor uses. I have already hooked the motor to a battery charger,it ran find but does not have enough torque for the blade to cut wood.
