Yesterday, my brand new refrigerator that a ordered was delivered and installed in my house and it is built in. We set the refrigerator to 37 degrees F and the freezer to 0 degrees F. Then this morning we checked and they are both at the right temperature, but the only thing is, is that there are three buttons on the inside of the refrigerator that say door open, over temperature and call services. When we open the door, the door open alarm (tiny little blue light turns on, kind of like a sensor) doesnt turn on. We are wondering if we should press the reset button next to it, but we are scared something might happen to it and we dont know if we should just press i or hold it. Please, anyone with some knowledge on this please help us!!! Thank you for your help!!!

Does the wood flooring HAVE to all run in the same direction from room to room? The wood in our kitchen, living room, dining area, and hallway that lead into the bedrooms all go in the same direction, but we decided to go in a perpendicular direction in the master bedroom because I was always told to lay the floors in the direction of the light coming in through the main window. So naturally, with the window being where it is, the floors ended up going in a perpendicular direction.

It's too much work to change it back now, but I was just wondering if it's so bad. Also, since it is the way it is, should we just run the wood in our second bedroom in a perpendicular direction to make it look consistent with the master bedroom (the light in the second bedroom also comes in the same direction as the master)? Or connect it with the hallway? I'm just afraid if we do that, the master is going to really look like the odd ball, being the only one going in a different direction.

We're confused!

I just found a HUGE caterpillar in my tomato plants. It's probably an inch thick and probably 5 inches long. It is all green and then has like little blue "eyes" (eyes like a butterfly has on it's wings) all down the side of it. it doesn't have any spikes or anything like that, just a smooth body, but it's head looks like a pugs (the dog) head because the skin is kinda folded up on his head. I live in Utah so it can't be any tropical kind of caterpillar. Does anyone know what kind of a caterpillar is it? Thanks a Million!

We had some water leakage through our ceiling, which caused a small area of the popcorn ceiling to peel off. What's the quickest and easiest way to repatch that?

We have some pansies planted outside, but our cats keep eating them! What are some non-poisonous (for the cats) flowers that I can replace the eaten pansies with that the cat's hopefully won't eat?

Thanks!

I live in North Carolina and I need some vinyl siding work done on my home.
I found a small company that has given me a reasonable estimate.
I was wondering if there is a way that I can find out if this comapny is licensed and insured without asking the contractor directly.
Is there a registry of sorts that I can check?

I have a 24' about ground pool. It has a haywood 1hp pump. The problem I have is that when I use the pump and filter to vacuum the bottom of the pool, after a few minutes the suction hose collapses at the inlet to the pump. I have a new skimmer basket assembly because the previous owners didn't winterize the pool properly and it froze causing it to crack and suck air when I vac the pool. I also bought a new vac hose last year before I found the cracks in the skimmer housing. I use one of those clear triangle shaped vac heads with the brushes on it. I know I don't have any restrictions in the hose or the skimmer housing. I have backwashed the filter before I start vacuuming the pool. Could the vac head be causing the restriction? Should I try a different vac head? The suction and return hoses are new as of last year. They were removed in the winter. Could it be just a bad hose?

I think it's a pretty common houseplant but I'm not sure what it is or how to care for it. It has long pointy green leaves with light green in the middle of the the leaves. It has no flowers as of yet, I got it about a week ago.Looks like one leaf is trying to bud, it had a cylindrical, beige bud in the middle. Any info or website with pics would be very helpful

Last night I saw this very odd worm. It was very long and thin, and its head was a sort of rounded triangular shape. It was brown with black lines down its back. It moved quickly, because ahead of it was a worm that was only a 10th of its length. The smaller worm tried to get away, but it seemed like the hunter was sniffing it out. It bit the smaller worm and held on tight as it wriggled about, and then constricted it. It left the worm in its constrictions and did nothing with its head except explore as far as it could go without changing the position of the rest of its body. It was completely digesting its food with its stomach- it didn’t chew it up and swallow or take big bites and then swallow...it didn't use its head, that's for sure. It slowly slithered off with a fuller stomach with a dark line in its back where you could see where its prey was in its body, and there was nothing left on the ground of the small worm. What was the hunter worm? I live in Texas btw

I'm thinking a spray paint, but what kind, and how long to dry? What about the edges so the panels don't get stuck together on the up/down?

Hi, Im hoping that someone can help. I live in Australia and we currently are experiencing drought conditions. About 9 months ago our 30 yr old house started creaking (floors) excessively. I originally thought that maybe because the ground was clay that it had something to do with it. Lately we have been going underneath the house to put in shims between the joists and the floor and discovered that some of the hoses on our ducted heating system were not connected and so therefor hot air was blowing directly under the house.(we bought this place a year ago) The hoses have now been reconnected but would I be right in assuming that the hot air may have shrunk the wood underneath the house. Now that the hoses are reconnected will the moisture be returned into the wood, or do we have to have the huge task now of having to fix most of the floorboards since nearly every step we take..creaks...
sorry for such a long winded story...

I've tried using bolt anchors which just turn round in the wall and have no grip and hit anchors which do not go in far enough when you hit the nail and eventually just fall out. The brick is either too hard and the drill bit slips into a softer area or it is too soft and the hole becomes too big. I cannot get the holes just the right width and cannot line up all the holes very well either, even using small bits and progressing to larger ones.
